jenna26 05-04-2005 10:12 PM

It is one of my favorites as well. :D I watched part of this movie when I was eight or nine and it scared me so badly that I couldn't watch it again until I was sixteen. Lol. It still creeps me out to this day.

i was raised on horror movies and this movie still creeped me out, this is a damn good movie the hitch hiker was awsome:D

kung-fu-jesus 05-05-2005 01:43 PM

the hitch hiker was cool, but i liked the grandpa.

i think that the best character in any of the films was R lee in the remake. that or the mattewe mcConaughey character in the next generation.

alkytrio666 05-05-2005 02:23 PM

Ahh...what an amazing and influential movie...and it also left me with that disturbed feeling that I both love and hate. Definately one of my favorites by far.

crazy raplh 05-05-2005 04:13 PM

I loved that one. the hitchhiker was awsome. Cutting that chair chair guy.

The Mothman 05-06-2005 05:16 AM

its a pretty fucked up film. I saw it for my first time earlier this year aswell. I like how they put the horror right in your face, and instead of making it quite and creepy, its loud and freaky.

LilMissScareAll 05-08-2005 05:46 PM

I love that movie. :D I saw it years ago because my grandpa had it on video. He eventually gave it to me. :p And now I also have the dvd, personally autographed by Gunnar. :D

Tobe Hoopers best, that and the remake of Invaders from Mars, not to mention Poltergiest.

IDrinkYourBlood 05-09-2005 08:09 PM

Yeah its one of my fav's. secound favorite from hoope is Toolbox Murders.

werwulf 05-10-2005 09:19 AM

Never seen it, but heard it was Graphic....like most of Hoopers movies. Didn't he also have a hand in Last House on the Left, with Craven?

Watch the movie with the commentary on, gives you a whole new perspective on the film.

Will Do...

I like it. Hooper did a good job of using atmosphere, not blood.

I find it ironic that only one killing in the whole movie is actually committed with a chainsaw, though. :)

Franklin was definately a character who deserved to die simply because he was annoying. I breathe a sigh of reliefe everytime leatherface drives that thing through him.

yeah .. not to sould like a billy badass .. but i cheered when he got it ...

kind of brilliant - making a wheelchair bound person the most despicable person in a film ..
there's your equal opportunity at work ..

I can't say I cheered exactly, I was way too disturbed by that point to cheer about anything onscreen. But Franklin probably really is the most annoying character in horror history.

Thanks for posting that link Vodstok, it is one I have never seen before.

crazy raplh 05-13-2005 05:55 AM

But the most terrifying part is the chase with the chainsaw squealing behind her. It's an iconic image in horror, for sure.

I still think that final 20 minutes made me the most anxious I ever was during a movie.

Top 5 horror, without a doubt.
