New Horror culture mag

nothing to see here

Sedated_replica 04-18-2005 05:27 PM

I'm already thinking about a review with two words... but I'll wait untill someone else puts down they're two cents

jay o2 waster 04-18-2005 05:31 PM

Close... I was thinking about a "you"... but still good enough

northerain 04-18-2005 05:35 PM

Why the hostility? Just trying to get some opinions on this. Would a new magazine kill you or something?

Sedated_replica 04-18-2005 05:37 PM

No but another post from you might.

You get a thumbs down

northerain 04-18-2005 05:43 PM

The words

Don't be so harsh on yourself. Your can't be that stupid

Well, you get points for being persistent and even-tempered.

Everything around here is perceived as "lame" by the jaded crowd, and anything remotely resembling site-whoring is considered flameable. Particularly if announced by someone with few (or no) previous posts.

Speaking for myself, a horror mag that is "slightly" different from existing ones wouldn't do much for me, but something wildly different would be another matter altogether, I would think. Come up with the craziest format you can imagine!

As far as what is currently out there in the online world that I like, there is a site called "Monster Kid" (look it up) that is styled after the old-fashioned monster magazines (Famous Monsters of Filmland, etc.) of the 60's. I find it to be very nicely done and very readable. I haven't found another online mag that does what it does with quite the same level of style, so they get points from me.

northerain 04-18-2005 06:01 PM

filmmaker2 04-18-2005 06:17 PM

I dunno...it seems to me like horror films are really widely sellable mainstream product for the youth audience nowadays.

ItsAlive75 04-18-2005 06:40 PM

I don't think a horror magazine that has short stories and indie movies in it would be considered that different from other magazines.

The STE 04-18-2005 06:45 PM

Fuck You

Fuck You.......

urgeok 04-19-2005 01:46 AM

i dont think any more magazines are needed. the market has enough well established ones, there is a ton of stuff available on the internet .. another one would be redundant.

Before everyone starts pulling my guts out and choking me with them or something, let me just say that I'm not pimping anything. I just wanted to gather some opinions on this matter. I'm considering(or actually, I already begun) starting a new online horror/macabre art mag. The question is, do we really need another one? There's a bunch of sites out there doing this stuff, but I hope there's place for one more. Maybe one that is slightly different and offers diverse things inside the horror culture? Besides news and reviews and the usual, stuff like short stories, art, indie flicks and the like. Do you guys think this would work?
Thanks in advance for any input.
Cheers

PS
Anyone wanna write reviews for this mag?

make it fresh, make it original, make it entertaining, make it inviting, make it reliable and make it sparkle, do all of these things and you're onto a winner, miss one out and you'll get told to fuck off with it .... it will sink I guarantee

Dude you really need to go to a better message board than this stuck up place. Go to places like Rue-Morgue, Bloody-Disgusting, or Upcoming Horror Movies to get a better response about ideas for a horror site. Don't whats in the water around here but they bring this message board down big time.
