8mm

So i got 8MM today on DVD, It's at Wal-Mart for 11 dollars. Usually I hate Joel Shumacker films, hell I just plain hate Joel Shumacker, But I like this movie. Good Stuff.

I've ALWAYS thought Nicholas Cage was somewhat of an overactor.

IDrinkYourBlood 04-13-2005 01:38 PM

I like Nicholas Cage. I decided last week that I like him better then John Travolta.

I found that I enjoyed Cage in 8mm and Matchstick Men. I just got around to watching the latter of those two last night.

Back to 8mm:
You definitely know that Machine is a bad-ass when you find out he's a Danzig fan.

Really? I thought Face/Off was okay, but Broken Arrow was garbage and Domestic Disturbance was boring as shit...

And all I have to say is Battlefield Earth....

IDrinkYourBlood 04-13-2005 09:08 PM

Hope your saying Battlefield Earth was terrible.....cuz it was.
Domestic Disturbance was allright. Nothing Special, Kept me entertained on a sick day.

Re: 8mm

"The Flatliners" and "Batman 3" are the best Joel Schuma... movies

kung-fu-jesus 04-14-2005 12:44 PM

immortalem 04-15-2005 12:18 PM

I liked 8mm. I thought Joaquin Phoenix was great in it. I also liked the Joel Schumacher films Flatliners and St. Elmo's Fire. But my favorite Joel Schumacher film is the film version of Phantom of the Opera that is coming to dvd soon.

i think Travolta is a fine actor .. extremely solid.

he doesnt always take the smartest roles in good films but even then he raises the quality of those films by being in them ..

He's becoming the next Gene Hackman .. although a little better looking .... but one of those guys who is engaging as either a good guy or a bad guy ..

always been one of my favorites ..

THERE'S a bold statement.. can't say I agree, but to each his own.

 Broken Arrow kicks ass! I thought it was one of John Woo's better American films at least its not as shit as MI2. I think John Travolta is a pretty cool actor despite some shit roles. I recently watched The Punisher and thought he was cool in that.

8mm had some cool moments in it but I remember being disappointed by it.... but I haven't seen it since it first came out I might have to watch it again and give it another chance.
