Just One More Slash for Old Times' Sake
A Nightmare On Elm Street star Robert Englund is trying to persuade veteran scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis to reprise her role as Laurie Strode for one more Halloween movie. Englund, who is famous for playing razor-fingered Freddy Krueger, wants to team up with Halloween hellraiser Michael Myers for what he hopes will be another box office bash. But Englund will only take on the project if semi-retired Curtis returns to the big screen. (Englund reprised his Freddy Krueger character for surprise 2003 horror hit Jason Vs Freddy, in which he came face to face with another scary movie icon, Friday the 13th's Jason Vorhees.)

Englund says, "The way it's conceived it would be a hell of an acting chore for Jamie because she would get to do sort of a rehab/recovery performance, and it would be really fun. You could imagine, just see that whole arc of the character, from being damaged and addled and weak, then getting your strength back. It's that great old thing, the gunfighter who loses their courage. My idea is to couple her with a strong stepdaughter or daughter, so you have female heroines, which is that great Nightmare on Elm Street thing, except this time you have double the fun."

Englund may also be interested in squaring of with horror honey Candyman, played by Tony Todd. "We'd really be able to open the door to surrealism, then. Whereas, if you use someone like Micheal Myers, he's not that different. He has a different goal, but he's not that different from Jason. But if you get someone like Candyman, now you really open the world to some surrealism in horror, and really go somewhere strange", he explains. "But it's also that he operates on several planes, too, as opposed to Jason, who operates in reality and Freddy, who operates in dreams. Obviously, I would probably need Jason, because I already know how to work him like my puppet. But it would be interesting to see how they deal with each other. It would almost be, as opposed to strength against each other, about who could out-fantasy each other; psyche the other one out. They'd have to go after each other's psychological flaws. If continuity means anything to Englund, the character of Laurie Strode was killed off in "Halloween: Resurrection".

As we all know being killed off in a Horror movie doesnt mean a return is impossible..besides the scream queen with those too.sounds tempting....who knows anything is possible..hehehe

iiiiiiiii doont know, mr. englund is pushing the envelope.

Horror villains can get killed and come back. Humans can't. That's just stupid. If they were to do something like this there would be no possible way of having the storyline make sense.

id still end up watching :( i just need alot of beer and weed.

since they never actually showed her dying in Resurrection if they come up with something believable then it's completely possible for the storyline to make sense.


I think it'd be cool if they got Curtis and Harris to do it, of course it wouldn't be all that great(although you never know) but Freddy vs. Jason was a fun movie to watch so I'd go see this and probably enjoy doing so.

It seems like Englund was doing alot of talking in interviews about FvJvA some time back so I kind of take what he says with a grain of salt.

the whole thing smacks of desperation.

a mediochre actor with one claim to fame .. that he's clinging dearly to.

I dont blame the guy - i'd do the same thing in his shoes ..
and what the hell ... if it's as entertaining as freddy vs jason - go for it ...

fuck I love Robert Englund.

Its a lame idea, but it would be fun.

They should just remake one of the episodes from 'Freddy's Nightmares', where they have him causing trouble before he dies, and turn it into a movie.

AND, not have it too lame, but it is Robert Englund so it wont happen.

This movie wont happen b/c Myers is owned by Dimension and Freddy is owned by New Line. There would be too much of a rights dispute. Plus that a really stupied idea, it just shows how disperite Hollywood is getting to make a buck.

Coz Robert englund (the one that does Freddy) is getting old so soon he wont be able to do any Freddy films so he should do them now lol.

hmm seems like a reach to me. i love freddy and i'm chill with MM but freddy really needs another wise crackin villan to go up against..like chucky..now that would be intresting. i just see a freddy v. Myers flick turning into halloween 3 and NOES2 with a dash of leprechaun in the hood...

oh and a horror villan isn't offically dead until they get sent to space! thats the rule...don't look at me, i don't make them...okay so i do,but thats a good rule,damnit!

I don't know about this "veusus" thing. It's okay to do a movie or two, but it shouldn't be overdone to the point where it gets ridiculous.

WOW I must say that I am impressed might as well throw Hannibleand Rawhead rex,the mutauted twin from basket case, the baby from it's alive, the demon thing from dead alive, and darth Vader in it as well, I think Darth Sidious would win the whole thing though

This might be old news to some.

At the 25th Anniversery Crystal Lake Party it was reported that another Jason film is in the works and it will be another pairing with Freddy. But there are talks of another horror icon being thrown into the mix: Michael Myers.
