"Troublesome Night"

Hmmmmm nice title! I'm sure it's only funny because of the translation though.

he'll sound alot smarter saying a Chinese series which goes by the name of Troublesome Night is currently up to their 18th instalment of the series

instead of....

Jason has ten.

it was until they desided to make part 2

Vodstok 03-17-2005 04:05 AM

Didnt watch Scream? It wasnt the retard in the first one... Jeez...:D

AUSTIN316426808 03-17-2005 04:08 AM

well you know what I mean, they ALL sucked after the first one so actually I guess that isn't a brilliant idea.

What i get a kick out of is that no one has pointe dout that actually watching Friday the 13th would be a better way to find that out than watching scream :)

I know whayt you mean though. i dont care fo r slashers.

outside of Halloween(I liked 'em all up until H20 which I did find mildly entertaining), Nightmare on Elm Street(besides one and New Nightmare they all kinda suck as horror films but I still like 'em because they're entertaining) and Friday the 13th(first one only)

For the most part all other slashers can go to hell. I mainly prefer psychological horror-Silence of the Lambs,Se7en,Manhunter ect.

urgeok 03-17-2005 10:17 AM

Nightmare on Elm Street wasnt a slasher .. despite Freddies finger knives ..

Its really more of a monster/ghost story... way more creative than a slasher ..

the first one was brilliant ...

AUSTIN316426808 03-17-2005 10:26 AM

I guess you're right, he was dead and only in their dreams also he didn't just walk around...well...slashing, so it is a ghost story.

Vodstok 03-17-2005 10:28 AM

it doesn knid of fit the genre though.

Human or semi human pathological killer murders teenage victims onbe at a time.

However, calling it a ghost story leaves a better taste in my mouth.

it has simularities (dead teenagers) but the structure and excecution it a lot more complex than a standard slasher ..

there were a lot of stand out moments you wont find in a slasher ... all the dream sequence stuff ...not knowing when you were asleep or not, etc ...

Vodstok 03-17-2005 10:40 AM

At least you didnt say Dog Soldiers was a slasher....

remember that thread?

AUSTIN316426808 03-17-2005 10:42 AM

Dog Soilders a slasher  who said that? that was an all around werewolf.

ItsAlive75 03-17-2005 12:47 PM

I think the misconception is that just because there's "slashing" in the movie, it doesn't make it a slasher.

Dog Soldiers was an action flick more than anything...
