what was that movie?
I have been trying for years to find out the name of a movie I saw around 1980 or 81. I was 12 or 13 at the time so I do not remember a whole lot. This is what I remember. I believe there where some sort of alien leech/worm things that were taking over an apartment complex. In one scene a lady was taking a bath and one of these alien things slowly crawled up out of the drain and slithered up between ........ At the end I think the creatures where in the basement or the indoor pool. I want to know what it was because I remember people actually vomiting in the theatre and many people were very offended and left. I think that I was so young that it went right over my head! People complained and the theatre stopped showing it. It was a double feature with Blood Beach. Anyway, I just wondered if anyone knew the title. Thanks!

I am reading the replies. I will keep checking. I just thought that it would be cool to go back and watch it now as an adult and see what all the fuss was about. A local radio station was talking about horror films and I called in. Nobody, not even the callers knew of the movie. Someone suggested Squirm but I read about it and it did not seem the same. I just thought that perhaps people that are really knowledgable about horror movies may have known the name. Thank you.

Don't feel discouraged. If you don't have a lot of posts you're gonna catch a lot of useless flak.
:( |
Thanks and your eyeball pic is really gross! Of all things, eyeballs freak me out!
|
it's not useless flack... it's always the same with these 1 or 2 reply posters, they ask a question, get an answer and then leave and never contribute in the forum again.... it's rather like going into a bookshop with a portable scanner, leach scanning the pages you want and leaving the shop without buying anything, rather irritating, don't you think.

Zwoti made a good point, waiting to see if the guy would come back. He didn't insult the guy... |
Did you ever think that perhaps it would be better if I did not stay around? Perhaps I have nothing worth while to contribute! Perhaps you could feel complimented that others consider you "knowledgable" and come to you with questions. When people ask me a question I do not think, "What am I going to get in return for my answer?" Maybe one person will know the answer and it could spike interest in this not too well known movie, you may try to get your hands on it and find out it was worthy of your time....or not. I do not mean to be rude I just had no idea that it would offend anyone by coming to the "experts" with a question! If you went the Great Dane Rescue forum and asked me a question I would not give you a hard time!

btw I don't know the film title, but I'm sure zwoti will enlighten you at some point. :) |
Thank you:) That was very nice. I have been looking around and I knew an answer to a question but someone had already answered it. But I was still happy that I knew an answer!

even better than shivers ... I love these films that are grainy and amateurish in appearance .. but in a way that makes it more life like ... rare when it is used as an enhancement rather than a distraction .. |

i dont like the fuck yous but sometimes the rediculous answers are funny :) |
You are AMAZING! That is it! Now I will have to pick it up! Thank you for the link too. So I am guessing that since you knew what movie I was talking about with such few details on my behalf, you have seen it. What did you think? Was it really gross considering when it was made? I can't wait to see it again! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!

If I recall correctly, the bladders on this movie were inflated with ketchup bottles. I'm fairly certain this is correct! So there was a little group of people squeezing ketchup bottles just out of frame.
It's not really the first time air bladders were used in live action creature effects, nor really was "The Exorcist." A lot of people are unaware, for example, that James Arness's creature makeup in "The Thing" had vein channels that throbbed when inflated. Ah, the font of useless knowledge. |
I think the film is called SQUIRM
