if you think you might get testy, don't look

I know this is horror, but I was still curious about what you kids think seeing how monsters and such occure in sci-fi as well.

Elvis_Christ 03-15-2005 06:25 PM

They both have their moments. The only Star Wars film I like these days is The Empire Strikes Back. So I'll have to go with Star Trek because of the second film The Wrath Of Khan damn ass-kicking movie..... gotta love those slug things they put in those guys ears!

AUSTIN316426808 03-15-2005 09:28 PM

Star Wars by far

filmmaker2 03-15-2005 09:38 PM

So what's a person to do if he likes Trek, Wars AND Who?

They're all good.

ShankS 03-15-2005 09:41 PM

what about Alien and Predator.....

I think the question was about the actual monsters, rather than the films.

if you're going by the monsters then Alien and Predator blow Trek and Wars outta the water, most of the interesting characters in Star Wars were human(Vader,Boba Fett,Solo ect.).

I don't think they go in the category of monsters but my favorite were the tusken raiders and cheebacca of course.

allmykids 03-15-2005 10:28 PM

I'm a big Star Trek Fan!! Part 2 and 4 are my fav.

the kessler boy 03-16-2005 04:33 AM

There was nothing in either of them that got anywhere near as scary as the Cybermen.

10 days to go!!!!!

Star Wars/Trek wasn't suppose to be scary.

Darth Vader wasn't supposed to be scary?

overall the two franchises were never meant to be scary. Darth Vader is simply another dark character not meant to be any scarier than DeNiro in Taxi Driver or Michael Wincott in the Crow, just dark characters.

Vodstok 03-16-2005 05:05 AM

Star wars certainly had a better variety of monsters and aliens. Star trek basicaly has people with mild physical differences, whereas star wars has those in spades, plus all kinds of other crazy shit.

Love or hate the movie, i always liked this bad boy from attack of the clones:

slasherman 03-16-2005 05:11 AM

In real life Yeti, Bigfoot and Nessie...:D
In the movies "The Blob".....

MichaelMyers 03-16-2005 06:23 AM

Star Wars.

Prelude95Si 03-31-2005 12:12 PM

Star Wars by far. Trek has kinda died out especially with the new series. Granted, the only good Wars' films were from the original trilogy before Lucus fucked up the trilogy on the DVD's.

However, I am highly awaiting Episode III.
How about you guys?

The Mothman 03-31-2005 05:16 PM

i would have to say star wars, because at times star trek is unwatchably boring.

star wars and star trek suck sweaty nut sac...

crazy raplh 04-01-2005 02:14 AM

I liked them both. but the force and the jedi could easily whip out enterprise.

Think about a star destroyer V enterprise. or even a star destroyer V the borg cube....................no match.

hahaha no! vader was supposed to be an example of what happens when you let power consume you. he was supposed too be a very human character. i mean he cut lukes hand off but luke was a little bitch and vader owned him. haha! if you only knew the power of the darkside

the imperial fleet would kill all of trek. an ion cannon to the borg and they'd all be shut down, and then the empire would have their way with them.
the enterprise could not run from a star destroye who has a better hyperspeed.

if your are as much of a geek as anyone i know, you would have these facts driven into your brain where useful knowledge should be (thanks guys)... anyway, we hhave had this discussioon enough times....

i should mention: in episode one, young anakin says "now thats podracing", my friend thinks it would be great if at the end of a new hope when han blasts vader's tie into space and he screams NNNOOOOOO it would have been a lot better if he had said "now thats podracing"

ChEEbA 04-01-2005 08:36 AM

Starwars has cooler ships, aliens, sets, and the score of the original trilogy was great, all of those aspects, and the fact that 3 movies CAN and are being compared to what, 5 ST series?

These factors make SW come out on top IMO.

phantomstranger 04-01-2005 02:50 PM

I like them both, but I've been a "Trek" fan longer...so I'll have to with that one.

Im talking about movie to movie

ChEEbA 04-04-2005 09:19 PM

Oh, in that case...I'm unsure...

Each has 3-4 watchable movies.
I personally preffered the newer ST films ('cept of cuorse for the stupid-ass Nemesis), and the older SW films.

This is true but also Vader as well as the whole story of Star Wars is supposed to show that a person can be good then go bad and become good again, its a very humanistic story that shows what humans are capable of.

So basiclly STAR WARS rules!!!

The_Return 04-05-2005 11:37 AM

Im a fan of both to some extent....but Star Wars owns [I dont think Ive ever said "Owns" before...] Trek. When I was a kid, I was totally obsessed with Star Trek : Next Geneneration, but no it's lost it's apeal somewhat. My parents bought most of the movies awhile back....all except Generation and Nemesis [Nemesis wasnt out yet, dunno why they didnt get Gen.] Anyway, Ive only ever watched First Contact and Insurection....t5hey were OK...

But Star Wars is amazing. Am-fricken-mazing. So far, all the movies have been at least partially enjoyable, Original 3 being obviously the best, but I loved Epi. 1....Epi. 2 left alot to be desired, but it was O.K...cant wait for Part 3! Vader is doubtlessly one of the best movie villans of all time.

ChEEbA 04-05-2005 05:20 PM

I liked Insurrection...it felt more like a ST episode than anything...
The borg one was ok too, but I personally preferred generations over pretty much all of the ST movies.

Ever since SW Ep2 came out, I've had a theory about what's gonna happen with Vader/Anakin.
Yknow how he's all messed up under the suit...respirator and all that shit...I think it's Kenobi that's gonna do it to him, they'll have a fight, a MOTHERFUCKER of a fight, and I imagine Anakin won't stop until he's disabled, so Kenobi is gonna well, do some messed up damage to him, and he's not gonna be able to bring himself kill him.
He'll go into hiding when the "empire" becomes a problem, which will probably be evident in Ep 3.

Star Wars by the way when ROTS comes out it will own u all......:)

gordytheghoul 04-06-2005 03:35 PM

STAR WARS, STAR TREK, who cares, are people never going to tire of these two franchises. They were good, but stop being so years ago. DOCTOR WHO, by being British, is lesser obsessed over in the US so I would go with it by default. Still I think horror freaks would be better off to check out LEXX, it's weird, sexy, violent, sometimes gory, has a zombie-like creature as a main hero, plus they have incountered vampires, cannibals, giants in Japanesland, and even a necro-mortican.

liquiddream 04-06-2005 05:28 PM

first i would like to say to u.......it's trek man, trek not trak...and second, thier all good when ur stoned....:p

wufong 04-06-2005 10:19 PM

dr who is the best by far... that show had all the original ideas....
even the corny old black and white ones had better story lines.
except for the master he was just plain gay.

the master gay?!! are you fucking crazy, that like calling the joker gay and even a downsyndrome baby knows thats not true! The master was the dr's arch nemisis!!!! He sure as fuck beat out the black guardian as far as villans go. would you have the doctor fly around e-space fighting daleks his whole life?! How boring would that be? The Dr is the best, but the master rocks too. The sooner you understand that, the smarter you will be.

he was undead making him as much of a zombie as jesus. Lexx is dumb anyhow.the coolest part of that show was their ship, the lexx. Bab 5 had soul theifs, maybe Bab5 would be good for horror freaks. I think the ultimate merge of sci-fi horror in a television show would have to be red dwarf. The Dr incounterd vampires too, just so you would know.
