Craven or Carpenter
Who is the bigger genre heavyweight Craven or Carpenter ?
I posted my first thread and the question sucks, sorry for the incompetents I will reword it Who is the biggest influence of the horror genre Craven or Carpenter ? |
I would say Carpenter as if we didnt have Halloween, horror wouldnt be the same
|
I agree ,
When Craven did the Scream movies I wonder if he was paying homage to a genre that Carpenter created. |
nothing beats the thing, nothing, not even freddy
|
john carpenter
best movie-halloween wes craven best movie--nightmare on elm street halloweens the greatest horror movie ever made and nightmare on elm street is the second best so carpenter is the best in my book |

yup im gonna have to go with carpenter as well on this :) love the halloween movies
|
I dont think I could pick one over the other....
|
I'd have to go with Carpenter. The man did make great films such as Halloween, The Thing, They Live, Prince of Darkness, Big Trouble in Little China, Escape from... and In the Mouth of Madness. Therefore, I think he's superior to Craven.

Carpenter.

I have to go with Ritualistic I think both are excellent writers and directors. I cant pick one. Both have great movies and upsets. So think that it would be a tie.
|
For once I am gonna have to pick Craven. I like more films by him than I do by Carpenter. Carpenter's only success was Halloween.
|
Carpenter.
|
Both huge influences in the genre but I'm going to pick Carpenter b/c he has consistently been great. Wes has been hit or miss for a long time.
|
why?
why is this even a question??
Both carpenter and craven are great, but if you look at the majority of their films, their styles are both like, really different, I can't even find many fair points on which to compare them. I like 'em both. Put it this way, Lets say the choice was as follows - If you chose one of them as your favourite, all of the films by the other would be erased from existence, and you'd never get to see 'em....how many of you would then chose your favourite? I don't think many of you would want to make that choice, as you know that they have both (despite a few bad films on both their parts) provided us with some excellent movies and scares over the years. Enough with the comparison already!!!;) |
