Halloween vs Halloween 2..which was better?
Feel Free to discuss as well as vote in the poll. Do you prefer the original "Halloween" or the sequel "Halloween 2"? I think both films were equally good, but I'm gonna have to give the slight edge to "Halloween". Only because of the original score. In part 2, they tinkered with the original score by adding in the phantom of the opera-ish piano music. I didn't care for that too much.

I havnt seen halloween 2, so i dont know, but ill have to say, and Ill get bashed for this, i enjoyed haloween 6
|
Id have too say #2...no wait, the original....nah, #2...DAMN YOU FOR MAKING THIS SO HARD!
Both were great! |
Evil dead 2 was the best...
|
Nothing beats the original....except for maybe Halloween 6
|
Halloween

#1

I don't see how this is even a contest. Halloween 2 just took what people liked about the first one and exaggerated it. Don't get me wrong, I liked the second one, but I would take Halloween 3: Season of the Witch over the 2nd one any day.

HALLOWEEN H20 IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME!

I guess I have to spell it out for some people. I thought it was clear that I think the first one is extremely better. and the reason? "Halloween 2 just took what people liked about the first one and exaggerated it."
I did clearly state that I like Halloween 3 better than 2. |
The first Halloween is the best because it was an original idea and it was fresh. Halloween 2 is okay but the first one is always the best.
|
Halloween 1 is better overrall, but the gore in part 2 is better than part 1.
In Friday the 13th... I like part 2 better than part 1. |
Nothing will ever surpass the original. But number two also kicks ass.
|
First one was the original, the classic, the template for so many of the inferior slasher fests that followed. Straight-serious and well made and beautiful, on a tiny budget. An achievement.
Part 2 was a really decent sequel with lots of atmosphere (and several million dollars). I enjoyed it, especially in the theatres. After the success of the first film, it was easier to make this one look good because the money was there. I liked "Halloween 3" also, but I'm a sucker for Nigel Kneale. It's rather a silly movie (and of course has nothing to do with the rest of the series!), but it's weird as hell and strangely appealing, with its own distinct atmosphere. It also gets points for having a "freakout" ending with Tom Atkins screaming "Stop It!" over and over again. Fun fun fun! |
Are you serious?
You like Halloween 3? you're soo.... forget it. you're the smartest person ever |
The first one is a classic..the second one isnt....The problem with the second one is that nearly the hole movie is at one location ...The hospital..thats a little boring...but a decent sequel....I like "Halloween 4" better.
|
Well, my opinion can't be taken too seriously, as I realized while I was watching "The X from Outer Space" featuring the space-chicken monster "GUILALA" (pronounced either "goo-lala" or "gee-lala").
There are films a person likes because they're good, and there are films a person likes because they're "fun"... |
Good thread.
My vote is on Halloween the orginal, but i would happily watch the other one directly after, its gotta be done. But what you have pushed me onto here is Halloween Resurrection. OH MY GOD i hated that movie. To kill off the Scream Queen was its first mistake and from then on they took Carpenters fantastic creation of the boogieman and turned him into a popular 'hip' character totally loosing the fear factor, very much similar to the fate of Freddy. You cannot have micheal without laurie strode i dont see how they could ever think of it. Come on whos with me on the CRAP they make these days!!! well not so much these days so much but a few years ago. Come on lets have you out!! |
I like Halloween II better. Its a really intense movie and had everything the first one had with the added bonus of........GORE!!!

All Hollows Eve

Part II loses some snap upon repeated viewings.

I don't like either better then the other so I am just not going to vote. I do think the two should be combined so that it will make more sense, it's the same night so I really think they should be combined.

Halloween.

I liked Halloween 3, if you block out the fact that it's part of a slasher series and has nothing to do with that slasher then it stands alone as a pretty decent film. On the other hand if you just sit there and say ''Myers isn't even in it, this shit is stupid'' then you're not going to enjoy it. |
ok, halloween was better than 2. halloween 2 was a perfect sequel to the first in story and deaths.
|
Halloween
I saw Halloween II before Halloween... I enjoyed the second movie... but after watching Halloween the next time I watched the second movie... it was improved |

Halloween 6 is worse than Halloween H20?
Okay, that list is b.s |

that movie is stupid, and boring, and even when i was a younger kid when i first saw it , it was stupid, and boring.
|
no the one with the masks is halloween 3 and thats why its last. and yes 6 was worse than h2o. the only reason for 6 was to kill jamie and show why mike kills folks.
