unfortunately you wont even get that, and if you do it'll be a half assed lie most of the time. Even if the rules were cut and pasted into your thread and you followed them to a tee, the mods *I use that term VERY loosely* will still do what they want, when they want. its their nature, as it usually is with all weaker lifeforms that are given a little taste of power.

although i dont care a lick one way or the other if any thread is deleted i have to say the argument above isnt making any sense.

I can handle a site about horror movies. Actors, actresses, film, special effects.

No, i cant handle 'crude raw truth' I cant even watch the fucking news.

I have a real problem trying to understand the connection between liking horror movies and liking pictures of real dead people.

And I'm against censorship but those kind of pictures ain't what this site is about.If I wanted to see pictures like that [ and for the life of me ,I can't understand why anyone would ] there are plenty of places on the web for that.
If the mods let that go ,the next thread could have porn pics with a warning.

I feel that way too...I don't have anything against those pictures, but I don't seek them out, and I come here to discuss and see stylized representations, not the real thing. And it's not that people aren't exposed to the real thing...they are constantly exposed to the real thing, which is I think why escapist entertainment exists.

Well, the logical argument is, that if "nothing" was posted, then "nothing" was deleted, so what's everybody upset about?

If you claim for yourself the right to be offended that the thread was deleted (and I'm not saying you shouldn't, of course) then you shouldn't be surprised that someone found the thread offensive enough to delete it.

I recall I used to do some similar things way back when...things that I did because I knew they would upset and agitate people.

For a while I felt I was doing it to "show them the truth" so to speak, but after I did some soul searching, I realized that, since I already knew what the desired reaction was (that people would get upset), then the only real reason I was doing it was to upset people. After I came to realize this, I decided to stop doing it.

But I don't feel bad that I did it in the first place, because that was part of my learning process.

Regardless, it is true that "the line of taboo" is always nebulous; it is a mental construction that exists in our minds individually as well as societally; it has no definite shape from moment to moment. But it is there, to be both regarded and disregarded, and at the very least the question of whether we should discern it or pay it mind is a valid philosophical argument. It bears thought.

At the same time, i also appreciated the warning.

Im sure they do have forums, my complaint is not about whether or not her thread was appropriate or not, and no I dont agree with drawing pleasure from someones death in real life, I do however feel she or anyone for that matter had just as much a right to make that thread as anyone else. There was a warning, which its been expressed that it was appreciated *if someone went in after the warning then it was on them* If its about it not having anything to do with horror I disagree, though it was a strong dose of reality it certainly pertained more to the subject matter of horror much more than Boobaments, Foodaments, Game character tournies, etc. The fact still remains that the moderators still pretty much suck for deleting threads at will, no warnings, nothing. They KNOW they cant be banned, they use that to their advantage and at ANY given time for any reason at all any of us can be censored by THEIR standards and after seeing some of their posts, those standards aren’t very high at all.

I'll put money on it, that the reason why threads of that nature and subject get deleted, is for the sake of potential new members or guests viewing it.... then deciding not to sign up to the forums because of this. The mods are attemting to keep some sort of 'morality' to the place, and excessive or graphic stuff, that was posted, you have to admit is rather strong....hence why I posted in that thread saying it wouldn't last long. The thread content didn't offend me in the slightest.

Since There are no rules posted, who's to say what's appropriate and what's not? If it's such a big deal to post things, make RULES.....If they're violated, then delete....But deletions without any explanation are frivolous...Nobody learns....It just disappears with no warning, and no one ever steps up to say why.....That in itself is wrong.......Post a warning saying what is wrong with the thread, if it continues, delete it....

This thread, and you still being here, are both proof that the mods are slightly better than a few months back. Not too long ago, this thread would have been deleted within minutes of being posted, and you would have been banned. Neither has happened as yet, showing that the mods are learning slowly but surely from their mistakes.

im not sure that it wouldve been deleted or ini banned so quickly. mods act with a lot of disgression and its just odd how random he/she/they work.

give a certain situation and each one will act very differently, where ideally ud want them all to have the same response.

theres never really anything TOO horribly offensive/gruesome/etc. on here, so id hafto stick with NO action as opposed to this random/unreasonable/unwarranted/unfounded/un---------- crap
