The Cryptoment

What the hell, i already have 4 or 5 others going....

The Cryptoment! a contest of supernatural, fortean, and just plain wierd things.

first off:

El Chupacabra

Vs.

The Mongoilian Deathworm

http://www.forteantimes.com/articles/182/death.jpg

One lives in central America and drinks animal's blood, the other lives in the Gobi Desert, spits venom, and can electrocute people from a distance.

El Chup kinda looks like my mother-in-law.......I'll vote for the phallic looking deathworm.

urgeok 02-15-2005 11:38 AM

i'll go for the worm .. cant go wrong with something that can electrocute from a distance.

i think the only thing better than that would be a shark with frickin laser beams attached to its head.

the idea of a mexican monster is kind of funny to me and i dont know why.

i have a bunch of them ... most notably - night of 1000 cats.
some parts are so bad you laugh, some parts are so bad they're bad.

seeing cats 'jumping' at people (in other words - being thrown at people) is a laugh.

i know that some people find cats creepy - or frightning ..

but a whole mess of cats running around together is just goddamn funny.

AUSTIN316426808 02-15-2005 12:39 PM

the movie sucked but I vote for the chupacabra because the stories I've heard are creepy.

filmmaker2 02-15-2005 12:43 PM

Worm! I read about the Mongolian Death Worm once, and they sound like good eatin'.

The_Return 02-15-2005 02:45 PM

Dont care for either...Ill vote for the worm cause it's in the lead, closer to the next match...

Marroe 02-15-2005 02:48 PM

Death worms are cool.

Iniquity 02-15-2005 03:35 PM

Deathworm the other kinda looks like a flea thats been radiated.

Gren the cake 02-15-2005 05:03 PM

the death worm

ShankS 02-15-2005 05:22 PM

Deathworm

allmykids 02-15-2005 06:25 PM

The STE 02-15-2005 06:36 PM

The DOver Demon

Vs.

The Mothman

http://home.earthlink.net/~brosenberger/mothman.jpg

AUSTIN316426808 02-16-2005 04:41 AM

neither one of them look to interesting but I'll go with the mothman since I liked the movie.

urgeok 02-16-2005 04:54 AM

thats the best an artist could do coming up with the Dover Demon ????

i never heard of him, he looks like a wimp.

The Dover Demon : Steals sandwiches.

i'll vote for him - i'll go for the underdog because i feel sorry for him already

Vodstok 02-16-2005 04:57 AM

The dover demon was spotted once or twice in the 60s and just stared at people from the side of the road. No scary movies have been made, and i am pretty sure that it would steal a sandwich, given the opportunity.

ahhhhhh the 60's ... riiiiiiiiiiight.

i understand perfectly.

he probably stole chips, twinkies and pizza too.

The Mothman 02-16-2005 05:27 AM

I VOTE MOTHMAN!! YAY!

filmmaker2 02-16-2005 07:54 AM

I vote Mothman...but he didn't look much like that painting, actually he looked more like this picture--more humanoid, with glowing red eyes, and feathered wings.

That's a great painting, though!

urgeok 02-16-2005 07:58 AM

why didnt they call him the gargoyle man ?

Vodstok 02-16-2005 08:01 AM

I beg to differ. I have read multiple articles, and most of the eye-witnesses said that it didnt appear to have a head, but rather large eyes set in the chest. That pic is cool, but very inaccurate.

urgeok 02-16-2005 08:05 AM

THE Mothman.

filmmaker2 02-16-2005 08:05 AM

Well, not necessarily so. First off, the witness accounts vary greatly. Many did not see a visible head, but they may have been blinded by the red eyes, which were described by some as intensely hypnotic.

The witness who saw it the closest (it was standing next to her car) described a humanoid head on a flexible neck in an interview.

ShankS 02-16-2005 08:07 AM

Dover Demon

urgeok 02-16-2005 08:09 AM

here's the mothman's mommy.

Vodstok 02-16-2005 08:11 AM

http://www.mothmanlives.com/map.html

Anyway, this site belongs to someone who might be just a TAD obsessed....

filmmaker2 02-16-2005 08:12 AM

Ohhhhhh now, I don't understand how you can say a thing like that.

filmmaker2 02-16-2005 08:16 AM

Urge, that looks like Denis Gifford's book...

urgeok 02-16-2005 08:28 AM

looks like one of Gojiras wet dreams to me :D

newb 02-16-2005 08:31 AM

I pick The Mothman

filmmaker2 02-16-2005 08:33 AM

CHARMANDER! I CHOOSE YOU!

Wait....

Marroe 02-16-2005 01:32 PM

The Demon dude please...

The Mothman 02-16-2005 02:20 PM

i've searched mothmanlives.com alot too. I'm not THAT obsessed with the mothman as the guy who made that map is, but I do find the myth quite interesting.

Vodstok 02-17-2005 03:41 AM

4-3, mothman is in the lead over the sandwich theif.. err, Dover Demon.

zwoti 02-17-2005 04:08 AM

Vodstok 02-17-2005 04:18 AM

4-4....

URge was right, it steals sandwiches!
