I could be wrong but isn't that what the original version is too? |
Might be decent...but remakes are getting WAY too overplayed

the deal is, outside of the fans who gravitate to a place like this .. a lot of people dont have a clue that a lot of these films are remakes .. untill they read it in the paper.
and outside the genre .. we watch tons of movies that are remakes - often without knowing. I didnt know until recently that The Pledge was a remake of a british film, or Insomnia was a remake... The list is endless ... and no one cares. Horror fans seem to get more uppity about it than anyone else. Personally - the only film i ever had a problem with being remade was Alfie. |

well, sometimes they change the complete movie and keep the name ... othertimes they are pretty much the same but change the names ...
Scarface being the former, The Pledge being the latter. The Pledge was better than the origional though ... |

insted of remaking movies they should take the original, restore it, and play it in theaters.this applys to all remakes!
|
My only problem with remakes, is that some movies have no need for being remade.
LIKE TCM! or even Evil Dead now. We're all faithful too our original movie. Its like taking a Music album you love, and remaking it with new guitars and extra songs that don't fit. I'm fine with a few remakes, but honestly its just a money thing and no one can come up with any new ideas. |
I'll see it!! :D or :( We'll see!!

didnt know that it was a remake until i had the DVD in my hands |
After watching the original Hills Have Eyes I was left with one lingering thought. "Why the hell did I waste my free movie rental coupon on that piece of... *cough*" This film was neither scary nor entertaining. I spent the entire film waiting for the end, which came far too late.
As for the idea of a remake, I have mixed-feelings. There is potential to make a quality picture out of the this terrible waste of time and money, but why bother? Is it that hard to come up with new ideas? PS Despite what you may think, I am actually a Craven fan. |
i have no problems with remakes...there isnt anything original they have done everything prolly....but hey i have some original ideas that i hope to share with people soon....see ya

Hills Have Eyes Remake
The guys who made High Tension(known as Switchblade Romance in England) are directing so judging them on that standard then this should be something to really look forward to.
Let's just hope that the studio lets them get on with it and not hold them back because these blokes really know what real horror is all about. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was a real wimpy affair but I have high hopes for a cracking remake of The Hills Have Eyes now I know who's making it. |
Its a weird movie too have remade...
I mean, they'll remake anything but at of all movies... Oh well, I loved The Hills have eyes. Its the best movie by Wes |

Damn do they have to remake EVERY movie? Theres so many books that would make great translations onto film. I heard this Hills is gonna have even sicker looking mutants but the original was really a classic...then again so is Dawn of the Dead.
