I liked it. it's probably got the kornist tag line I've ever heard.

I'm sure that I'm just going through some kind of obsession phase with this one, it'll probably wear off in another week or two. Whenever it does end I'll still love to watch it but my favorites will probably go back to...

how the hell do you decide that # 45 is better then #46 ? what is your rating system based on ? i could never grade 100 movies like that ... i have like 7 movies at #3 , etc

It's like this. Which do you think is the better movie, MASH or Dog Day Afternoon? If one were just to ask you like that, you'd more than likely be able to give an answer. It's the same principal only on a much larger scale and done hundreds of times. Naturally, I don't MAKE the list in that manner, that'd take forever.

Sedated_replica 02-11-2005 02:02 PM

Taxi Driver is the best movie of all time

Fuck Citizen Kane!

the thing is though .. it totally depends on my mood ... so many are as well made as another .. but it's my mood that determines what makes it better for me at that time ...

I have an all time favorite top 5 but things sort of blur together after that.

(even then .. 4 of the 5 are interchangable)

immortalem 02-11-2005 03:37 PM

Two of my favorite movies are Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Exorcist.

Well, the list is more "100 best movies" as opposed to "100 favorite movies", so it's not quite as subjective. I mean, it's all opinion, so it's going to be subjective, but it's rooted in how well the movie is made (not just in terms of acting or effects quality, in the case of Evil Dead and formerly Versus) in addition to how much I personally enjoy it.

newb 02-11-2005 04:43 PM

Thats a great list Sam. Quite eclectic.

I take it number 11 is "Once Upon A Time in the West"....my italian is a little rusty.

The STE 02-11-2005 04:44 PM

yes it is

ItsAlive75 02-11-2005 05:27 PM

Season 1 of "Home Movies" from Adult Swim.

Not really a movie but its fuckin funny.

knife_fight 02-11-2005 05:43 PM

my top five:
1. Nightmare Before Christmas. and yes, I know all about how much NBC crap is at Hot Topic. but I have 3 copies of this flick. the VHS the day it was released and the VHS and DVD of the special edition. I love it and I don't care how popular it gets.
2. Edward Scissorhands
3. the Exorcist
4. Beetlejuice
5. Ghostbusters

Someone put Empire Strikes Back in their top five and I must say that it was in my top five until I decided that the Exorcist wasn't just one of the most well-made movies ever, but also a favorite. ESB is definitely the best of the Star Wars franchise.

for your top 100, most of those movies would probly be in my top 100, and many of them would be in the same order. I just don't honestly think I can remember 100 movies that I've seen, even though I'm sure I've probly seen over a thousand.

The STE 02-11-2005 05:47 PM

I remember movies I've seen. If I really sat down and tried to list every movie I've ever seen, and committed to it, I probably could. There might be some where I'd get the name wrong, or wouldn't remember it at all, but I could do it
