urgeok 02-07-2005 12:25 PM

i think there was one gore scene (and it was dumb)

i remember seeing it years ago and not being impressed at all.

The_Return 02-07-2005 12:33 PM

Cant say anything bout the quality of the movie....but that is one friggin kool poster!

Sedated_replica 02-07-2005 12:37 PM

LOL! What is that a Killer Robot? ...... Shopping for humans....

The Mothman 02-07-2005 12:40 PM

I dunno, but I saw the dvd, and that poster is the cover of it, and I thought it looked ok. just needed your guys's advice on whether to get it or not. So far it sounds like it's not so good.

42ndStreetFreak 02-07-2005 02:27 PM

Lots of fun, with a few nice cameos as well.
And a GREAT exploding head, right into the camera.

IDrinkYourBlood 02-07-2005 02:31 PM

It is such a LAME movie I repeat LAME. L-A-M-E!!!!!!!!!!!!!

knife_fight 02-07-2005 03:34 PM

I like Chopping Mall a lot. the robot hand is b/c the plot is this:

the local Shopping mall has some new Security Robots installed. A group of mischievous teens stay in the mall after it closes (kinda like in The Funhouse). the new security system goes a bit awry, to say the least....

I'm gonna have to recommend it, against my better judgement

Nothing wrong with that. I'd rather have a million of these little fun romps than just one big budget shit fest like "Urban Legend".

And any film with cameos by Paul Bartel, Dick Miller and Mary Woronov and features bouncing Barbara Crampton...AS WELL AS a great exploding head...is worth a pick up at this price.

BH14 02-07-2005 06:01 PM

Urban Legend!! Tara Reid, Joshuna Jackson, Jared Leto, Robert England (freddy), hot Rebecca Gayheart!! I dont know what all the fuss was about. I seen it 9 times. It rules!!!!!

Elvis_Christ 02-07-2005 06:05 PM

Great fucking movie aka Killbots. It isn't overly gorey more tongue in cheek fun but there is a couple of great deaths!

The Mothman 02-08-2005 07:27 AM

ok. I might get it.

I agree with freak on this one. i watched it on Sci-fi the other night out of sheer morbid curiosity, and there isnt enough monkey cock on earth to represent how much this movie sucked it. It was like they took the worst parts of I know what you did last summer and Scream, mixed them together, filtered out any charm and intelligence either had, then slapped on a retarded "Urban Legends in real life" theme and filmed it. Half the fucking murders WERENT even legends!

I know what you did last summer and Scream had Intelligence and charm? And what about Urban Legend 2, that went even waaaay further from being any sort of legend, it was just the guy in a fencing mask.

Well..."I Know What..." is almost as shit as "Urban Legend", but the first "Scream" was actually pretty intelligent and a very good film.
It's just all the shit that came after it (including it's awful sequels) that let the side down.

At least "Chopping Mall" was lots of fun and it was probably made for less than Sarah Michelle Geller's appearence fee.

EXTR3MIST 02-08-2005 12:34 PM

I thought Urban Legend was better than the rest of the post-modern slashers (for reasons that I won't get into like decent performances, good sets and some rather shocking death scenes), including the odiously smug Scream.

Scream was much better than Urban Legends.

Vodstok 02-09-2005 03:51 AM

You didnt think Urban Legends was smug?

And dont use a "theme" for your movie if you dont stick to it. if the movie is about a guy who kills people by beating them to death with bamboo shoots, is called "bamboo" and half the murders are committed with poison and a gun, then it has failed on it's theme. UL did the same thing.

I cant say that I liked this movie much....but as far as I could tell, they were all based on actual legends, what are you talking about? Check out www.snopes.com , you'll find them all there.

thats funny. But seriously how could anyone hate Evil Dead?

Its like saying The Beatles suck. If you say that you can't NEVER speak about music ever again.

X¤MurderDoll¤X 02-11-2005 02:16 PM

I haven't seen the first one but the other two were way too cheesy for my taste.

its suppose too be funny. Do you take yourself that seriously

X¤MurderDoll¤X 02-11-2005 02:22 PM

just because it's supposed to be cheesy doesn't mean I should like it...

42ndStreetFreak 02-11-2005 11:47 PM

"The Evil Dead" is excellent..."The Beatles" are amazingly overrated.

Sedated_replica 02-11-2005 11:55 PM

Sure maybe somewhat overrated.

But Amazingly overrated, that is ignorant. The Beatles wrote some of the best songs of all time.

maybe you could explain what is so overrated about them?

42ndStreetFreak 02-12-2005 12:01 AM

..Because they DIDN'T write some of the best songs of all time! :p :p :p

Is it!!? I'd prefer to say 'that is unbiased taste'.

"The Evil Dead"...that's good though, and a much better film than Ringo is a drummer! :p :p :p

You sir, may know a lot about movies! but music wise, you might as well not reply.

Name a band or song writter that is better than the beatles.

Plus when it comes too Song Struture, Melody, lyrics, and talent. The Beatles are still in the top Ten. MOST musicians would agree as well.

ChEEbA 02-12-2005 12:52 AM

I gotta step in here. I have to say that if I saw the 2nd and 3rd evil dead, I wouldn't have a great urge to see the first one.

However, being as it is that I HAVE seen the first one,(and even though I didn't mind the other two, the first is still my favourite, and the best by far - much crazier.) I should tell you that it would be too bad to miss out on it.
And if you see that one, and hate it too...yeah, then you pretty much suck.

42ndStreetFreak 02-12-2005 12:54 AM

Replica: Yes, but i obviously don't agree with all that because I don't like (hardly any) of their songs.

If i did like all their songs then i would agree. But as I don't, then i don't.

Circles they go round and round.

"The Rolling Stones" were better at the time.

But anyway..."Chopping Mall". Good fun. Check iit out.

i think at this day and age - the beatles are the most underrated band ever. I dont listen to them much but when i do I'm always amazed how good they are and now much they are taken for granted now.

and its true .. almost every musician is either influenced by the beatles, or by someone else who is.

42ndStreetFreak 02-12-2005 04:31 AM

And the The Beatles were influenced by decades of music and artists before them. Ho hum.

And without Blues there would not have been any Rock n Roll which means there would not have been any Beatles.

So all this 'influence' stuff is totally pointless unless you want to go back to when a caveman banged a rock on another rock and liked the sound he heard..as without that, there would also be no Beatles.

And like the Royal Family, if you lot like them all so much feel free to keep them.
DO NOT let the drab Paul McCartney leave America as i for one could do without another out of tune 'Beatles Medley'!

Anyway... "Chopping Mall", lots of fun. Check it out.

HAHAHA, I understand where the biased point of view comes from.

I HATE "The Rolling Stones", Fuck them! They only made two good albums, TWO!

The Stones wouldn't be half the band they 'were', if it wasn't for they're "Antics", why because they're music is repeative (not sayin' the beatles wasn't sometimes).

Plus, The Beatles changed a Generation, a Nation, and 'almost' started a revolution. what did The Stones ever do?

I feel the same about the Stones as Johnny Rotten does. Sorry for dragging this out, I take Music VERY seriously.

X¤MurderDoll¤X 02-12-2005 05:51 PM

How can you say one band is better than another anyway? What are you basing it on?

I could say Opeth (or NIN or Type O Negative *insert any of other bands I like because I don't even like the beatles) are better than the beatles but it's just a stupid thing to say in my opinion. I do however prefer Opeth to the beatles by quite a bit.

Drop it, it's a moronic argument.

"The beatles are better"
"no, fuck you man Bob Dylan owns all"
"nuh uh"
"uh huh"
