What Films are scarey?
 

Granted some films are just scarey if wasted or stoned when watching them, but what other films do people find scarey when not wasted or stoned? I thought the Blair Witch project was scarey, but I watched it a good couple of month's before it was officially released, and new nothing about it. I just like the idea of being freaked out and it hardly happens anymore, although 'white noise' was a little freaky what other films do people find freaky or scary, i mean are there any decent horror films that scare people anymore?

Nothing new, really. Some of the oldies are still goodies, the Exorcist, Night of the living Dead... Most newer horror movies are made off of what the studio thinks they can sell to the masses, not thinhgs that would really scare someone, so they tend to be sub-par. that is why everyone has been going batshit over Japanese horror lately, they are trying to make scary movies, not ticket pushers.

I have yet to see any scary ones as of late. I do enjoy the movies that make you jump from time to time. Damn music builds up, and you know something is going to happen, but that quick burst of unadulterated violence gets ya everytime.

Yeah there probably has been loads of stuff like this before, its just that some of the films people are making are getting boring! The new versions of the ring and the grudge didnt really scare me, more they made me jump a little which is funny but you don't get the same rush as being scared. Excorcist did freak me out, and I didnt like Aliens as a kid........

I can imagine! But that stuff aint supposed to be scary, its made for weird office workers in dead end jobs who were bullied at school and have a repressed sexual desire usually, as a reult of the insecurites they developed when getting beaten up at school! This is not me by the way!
Any way does anybody find things like 'The birds' or 'Silence of the Lambs' scary or freaky?

Living Hell- Japanese subtitled film, its the only one that I can think of of late that has actually made me shiver a little.

Waht is 'Living Hell' about and where can I find it? Oh and why did it make you shiver?
