Session 9?
Anyone ever heard of this movie? I saw a little bit of the beginning a long time ago, but it's a little fuzzy... does anyone remember the story, because it's on TV on Halloween.
Just Curious... *FADE OUT* |
Session 9 is a really atmospheric horror flick. I recommend you watch it next time you get a chance. The setting alone makes the movie.
|
If it's the one where the guys are working on an old house or something then I didn't like it. Of course you should judge for yourself though.

this was a pretty creepy movie watching it by yourself in a dark basment with cement walls surrounding you. Almost like you are there. I thought it was a good movie and well worth watching it.

I still need to see this movie. What channel is it on on Halloween?

My favorite part would have to be when the guy returns to the building to get all that "loot" from the incinerator in the morgue and as he's leaving he hears something behind him, then he turns and looks and his dim flashlight barely illuminates a dark figure stalking him at the end of the corridor, then he rounds the corner and...
Won't say it... Great, great stuff... The part at the end with his family is even weirder... Whenever there was one of those slow dolly shots (from inside the incinerator, pulling back to show the morgue; or through that long room with the wheelchair at the end) I totally expected to see some zombie like walk across the screen or something... like avenger said, the atmosphere alone in this movie will make you shit yourself... Great stuff... Should not ever be remade for any reason... *FADE OUT* |
oh yeh i almost forgot... one of my favorite parts besides the wheelchair sitting there in the back of the hallway was when the guy would play those session tapes of that shizophrenic girl ( forgot her name, but one "person" i remember was Simon) and that just freaked me out... i was fascinated to listen to those as things were happenning in the movie... awesome...

it wasn't quite what i was expecting. but i did kinda like the movie. :P

Session 9
Have any of you seen this movie. This is the only movie that I have seen in a long time that actually kind of scared me. It was more of a psychological scare than anything.
|
I was really impressed by this film and look forward to the director's next work: The Machinist.
I love the scene where Josh Lucas is looking for the money in that dark tunnel and, as I've said before, that damn spooky wheelchair. |
this movie is bad ass. i love the whole angle of working manual labor for enjoyment. This was the best psych. thriller ive ever seen. and D. Coruso, super bad ass.
im planning on doing an e.p. down the road as sort of a concept album based around this movie. i was gonna do it now, but i went in another direction, but ill do it eventually |
session 9
finally saw session 9 on dvd last night and was very impressed.
a genuinely creepy movie that had constant menace to it which kept me glued to the screen. this film deserved far more publicity than it received on it's release.let's hope the makers of this gem can come up with another original film and get the backing they deserve. |
I, for one, loved this movie. Its was great to finally see a film that realized we've all seen thriller / suspense before and dont need our hands held the entire time. That we can figure things out while watching what goes on on-screen.
M. Night Shyamalan ought to be strapped to a chair and have his eyes held open with toothpicks ala "A Clockwork Orange" and be forced to watch this film for several days on end before being allowed to force the moviegoing public to sit through another unending piece of dreck he calls film making. Maybe then he would learn what suspense, mystery, foreshadowing, and delivery really are. |

LOL. SOLD!!! Im going to look for that movie right away. Sounds just like the kind of movie that i like. :) |
whats this movie all about. And dont give me the "google search" talk cuz im lazy.

Simple version, without giving anything away, a construction team goes into an old abandoned insane asylum, to do asbestos removal.....which they hope will revitalize their failing business, and bad things begin to happen. While doing their work, one of the workers stumbles upon and old records room containing medical records, notes and recorded sessions from decades past.....and he begins listening to them.....hence the movie title. More than that and I move into spoiler territory.
A couple of things to note, the writer of this film set it in a REAL abandoned insane asylum near his house, the asylum where they reportedly "perfected" the frontal lobotomy......and its filmed there as well. Also, if you watch the extras on the DVD, you'll see some scenes that were deletd, among them, a subplot involving and insane homeless woman....which for once in life, its a great thing they pulled from the film as it would have killed the creepiness of the film. |
This movie sounds kick ass, how old is it

I love this movie. Thanks for reminding me to buy it.
It is genuinely creepy. |
I hate to admit it, because, as my dad would say, "I'm a grown ass man...", but, there are some moments of genuine, I need to turn the friggin light on, creepiness in this film. Bits where you KNOW a scare is coming, but, unlike other films, the surprise actually makes you jump because you cant predict it....
I should go buy this for being snowed in tomorrow..... |
Where about in South Jersey are you, Graveshow? I lived there all my life.
|
yeah session 9 was pretty dope....the asylum sets a fucked up mood....theres some scares....and aside from caruso the casts real good.....wheelchair shot was nice...worth checking out....i guess it could be considered psych horror, since we gotta play with the possibilities ourselves for the most part.

I gotta be honest, I thought the special features were scarier than the actual movie.

GREAT movie!
"DO IT GORDON!" |
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....you hit on a good subject for me!
I LOVE this movie! I think it is so creepy.................haunted me for a whole week and had to see it again. I saw it just at the time of the Andrea Yates case. It all tied in so eerily. I kind of believe in a thing like that..........something that is there to make someone snap. |
