haven't seen any anime horror though
have to check it out:D

avenger00soul 11-14-2003 06:30 AM

VH:D Bloodlust is one of my fav. films of all time, not just anime. I love both of those flicks as well as the original Ninja Scroll. I've been dying to see Wicked City.

Ritualistic 11-14-2003 02:52 PM

This is something I have never gotten into.. But I have really been interested into this type of horror. Anyone know of any good sites I could check out..???

Arioch 11-16-2003 04:51 PM

Let me say that horror anime fucking owns. Now with that said, i have to express my dissapointment with the Hellsing series. Maybe it was just the fact that it was really hyped up to me maybe i just didnt get into the characters or the jazzy upbeat style but just note my thing i guess. VHD, both of them, are undoubtable classics. Alot of the other ones you mentioned i havent seen yet, guess i need a job:(

Must be spending too much time in the desert, the only horror animae I have seen was Heavy Metal, has an awesome soundtrack if you are into 80s metal.

Heavy Metal is fucking awesome....

hypes057 11-19-2003 11:46 AM

Both Vampire Hunter D's are awsome, as well as Wicked City.
Wicked City is a lil long, but damn its great.

Jubei's Revenge doesnt really qualify as horror but its good to (NOTE: ITS NOTE PART 2 OF NINJA SCROLL)

Doomed Megapolis was aight........Really long.

Ninja Scroll, to dope.

bellamorte 11-24-2003 02:33 PM

This is not anime but still created in japan. It is called Blood Reign. Kick ass blood gore movie.

hypes057 11-24-2003 06:10 PM

yo bell, i like ur avatar, pretty cool

nightbreed 11-25-2003 02:55 AM

yeah

Ninja Ressurection(sp?): Jubeis Revenge is NOT a continuation of the Ninja Scroll series. What alot of people dont realize is that charactors like Yagyu Jebei, Hattori Hanzo, and Musashi Myamoto are all legendary heros in Japanese culture, so theyve been depicted thousands of times in movies art literature etc.

Anyways has anyone seen Blood: The Last Vampire? That movie is off the hook. It clowns any other anime youve ever seen. period. the animation is so advanced its stupid.

Wicked city. is that the one where that chick turns into a spider and her cunt tries to eat some dude?

Ever seen Biohunter?

hypes057 11-25-2003 05:17 AM

yea, wicked city.....thats the one.

i think i did say that jubeis revenge was NOT a sequel to ninja scroll, but if i didnt, thanks for verifying.

blood was cool and the animation is pretty sick, although i must say i was kinda disappointed w/ the run time and story. I wanted more back story, more vamps, and even more......well......Blood. As for the animation goes, sick as fuck. some of the best animation i ever seen.

agreed completely. It felt like just when the shit was getting going it ended. But I just like the realistic animation and the use of paralax. When she slices that bitch down in the nurses room i nearly stood up and cheered. dope animation, needs a sequel.

hypes057 11-25-2003 10:33 AM

yeah, a FEATURE LENGTH sequel.....

it was dope though, must say. animation superb.

Blood the Last Vampire is supposed to get the live-action treatment by Ronny Yu. Don't know how good it will be though.

hypes057 11-26-2003 04:55 AM

i dont know about that, anime should stay anime....

Killer Clown#1 11-26-2003 07:02 AM

Not really anime but I love the Spawn series. It's on of the darkest cartoon series I have ever seen.

bellamorte 11-26-2003 01:55 PM

Thanks hypes!

Blood would be good as a live action if the incoporate the manga more then the anime. The manga is well done.

There are tons of hentai titles with bondage... Like every other one. As far as straight horror goes, Perfect Blue and Boogiepop Phantom are the best I've seen. More recently, Gantz and Elfen Lied are good horror-ish anime, but opinions are divided on both of those series.

zwoti 09-21-2005 10:46 PM

nobody mentioning Urotsukidoji.........

komi 09-22-2005 01:55 PM

Agreed Perfect Blue stuff is NICE.. My wife thinks I am sick for being into Hentai..But what does she know..

Despare 11-13-2005 07:34 AM

Angels Egg
Biohunter
Perfect blue

could be good
i just got it  :o

noctuary 01-06-2006 05:33 AM

Angel's Egg is a very odd film. It's really unlike any other anime I've seen. The best way I can think of to describe it would be: Imagine if a very surreal filmmaker like, say, Kenneth Anger or David Lynch became a gifted animator who happened to be obsessed with religious themes. Then imagine that they took massive doses of LSD before beginning production. Then you would have Angel's Egg.

komi 01-06-2006 08:07 AM

:D:D:D

heeej thats good

but only 71 minutes :o

Evangelion

Heres a favorite anime of mine. Its not horror at all unless you count that the themes of isolation, death, & everything come into play. However I often kept my love of this anime a secret because of the number of people who take it way to seriously. Anyhow its on my list as really neat little anime. Does it count as horror? Possibly as a philoshpical horror.. Anyhow that my 2 cents... :D
