can't remember the title
I saw a slasher movie about 10 years ago when I was a kid that has stuck with me. The movie involved a one room school house out in the country somewhere. The kids and teacher get kidnapped by a group of guys wearing animal masks. The kids then escape and run away from the killers, but several kids and killers get killed throughout the movie. I remember there is a scene where the kids are in a cave and must swim underwater to escape from the killers. If anyone can remember the name of this movie I would really appreciate the help, having been wanting to see this movie again ever since. I think it might have been made sometime in the 70s or 80s.

Seems like "Todd" is looking for the same movie...
I'm looking for a movie I believe was shot in Australia. The basic plot is some bank robbers wearing animal masks have kidnapped a teacher (or nanny?) and about 10 children of various ages. The location seems to be an undeveloped Australian area and animals such as kangaroos are seen in several shots. At one point, the children take refuge with an old couple but are surprised and recaptured by the robbers. Later, the children and their teacher are being pursued and they escape by swimming underwater for some time. At the movie's conclusion, the group of children TRAP and kill the bank robbers! I was about 16 when I saw this and I thought it was an awesome movie. I saw this broadcast on American TV sometime in the mid-to-late 1980s, probably no later than 1988, perhaps as early as 1986. I have fruitlessly searched all over the Internet and today did a keyword plot search on IMDB for everything marked Australia and found nothing. Any help appreciated. --Todd |
Can I suggest that if all else fails, submit the question to Empire magazine if you're able.
They're usually pretty good with obscure lil' movies... |
Hmmm... and smug and clever fanboy schmoozing - I had to give that rag up years ago and start reading Premier and The DarkSide instead.
Is Empire still as much up its' own arse about Kevin Spacey and Julia Roberts movies as it used to be? |

I used to love this movie as a teenager and would love to see it again. I know this is going to sound soooo fucking lame, but what I once did (when I was very young) was to tape fortress onto an audio tape on my dads stereo (he set the video up so the audio would run through his speakers). Then I took the tape up to my room and played it on my tape player whilst I got my brother to video tape me whilst I was miming the lines to the movie. I would then watch the tape back to see how believable I was at miming the lines... The things you do when you are a kid!! I still remember some of the lines from this movie - "Miss Jones... There's Pussy cat, Mac the Mouse and another animal out there - they're hiding, but I saw them!" ^^This was the kidnappers being spotted with their animal masks on just before they raided the classroom. FUCK, I love that movie!!!! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091069/ |
