I can say that I was very disappoinbted when I saw that they were remaking this one, but then I read this article at horror channel and I actualy feel a little relieved....

very well then, be happy
i however prefer to keep my fingers crossed |
not sure of my reactions to this.... Sam says EvilDead is such a special film to him...... if it's so special already why does he need to remake it. I can see it now, more and more stuff getting churned out, detracting from the original intentions of Evil Dead.

Rami would be better left alone to do things himself and continue the series with a 4th film that didnt have to 'better' any spinoffs, because even if hardcore fans know that the 'spinoffs' have nothing to do with his new 4th film, judgements will still be made and passed and it will inevitably mean that for Rami to catch a 'fresh audience' and obviously bring in the $$$,the 4th one will end up being crap, simply because he knows that new fans of the films will now want to see a 4th film that is the same style as the 'spinoffs' which I guarantee will be shit. They will no way be anygood as the Original EvilDead films. So thats why all this new crap and a remake should not go ahead....he should just concentrate on making a 4th film for the hardcore fans like us and Fuck the fans who will be created from a remake and spinoffs. |
Sounds like a shit idea to me; he already re-made Evil Dead as Evil Dead 2 … At the end of the day Ash is Campbell hence the title of the third film!
What people wanted was a 4th movie directed by Rami and starring Campbell! No one else has the same kinetic direction style as Rami so what’s the point! Yeah everyone will watch it and it will make lots of money … Blah Blah … but I would rather see Evil Dead 4 not some lame MTV style remake! At the end of the day the $ talks and so they will do it and even if its the worst movie ever the title guarentee's a good box office return! |
NOOOOOOOOOOOO! DAAAAAAMN YOOOOOOOU!
I'm already picturing a Cabin Fever style movie with a cast of hip, young twentysomethings. God help us. |
Well then I have the solution for you all, don't go and see it. Just don't, easy as that.
|
I think Urge has the best oopinion on these things. This isnt a direct quote, but dont give me credit for this.
Itz great to see new horror movies being made. If you dont like them, tough bananas. Nobody's forcing you to watch 'em. Yes, I made up the tough bananas thing. lol |
I'll believe it when it gets released
|
Now this is getting worse.
Sean William Scott to play ASH. http://www.creature-corner.com/?type=news&id=211 |

yeah that wouldnt work. Campbell worked because he played it straight. With Scott thay are looking for a comedian to play the roll. He's capable .. but he has to play it straight. |
refuse to see any remakes from here on out. its the only way to stop remakes from happening

I heard it was Justin Theroux

So far I don't believe Sam Raimi has confirmed this. Hopefully it ends up like that "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash" crap.
|
Fuck Ash. Evil Dead sucks then, it would now. Maybe, if God is on their side, this will be an actual good film.
|
....
Guys.... Bruce Campbell will play Ash and it will be a great remake. Stop worrying!

the entire legacy of Ash was imbedden in Campbell's acting...he was the perfect person to play Ash...if the do have someone else, I hope the find an "independent" actor, rather than having someone who's already established in Hollywood...
|
But seriously why remake it? I love it the way it is. What will it be called "Evil Dead 1.0" .
Just because its more than a cult classic now they want to remake it.. Just like TCM. Money in Hollywood. Movie business is worse than the music business. |
If they had to pick someone else to play ASH who would you choose?
The only one I can think of who could play straight as well as having a comedic side would be Ryan Reynolds aside from his role in Blade Trinity he is far from being mainstream |

Seriously though, I hope this uncalled for remake never sees the light of day. What's the point, anyway, of remaking these classics, apart from the money generated by the Scream-generation ?? :( |
Evil Dead II : Dead by Dawn was really just a higher budget remake of #1.
If the person directing this new remake understands what it took to make the evil deads a fan success then we just might get a good film. Raimi is one of the few fringe filmmakers who is still credible after finding fame. If he keeps near the project there is an excellent chance that it could be a balls up movie. The biggest problem we face is that if it is a bigger film it wont take the risks Raimi took. The last thing we need is a toned down evil dead. The screen should run red with blood. |
I thought that both Evil dead 1 and 2 were both great and different movies.

but there was no continuing timeline ... #2 started as if #1 never happened. it was a remake without repeating everything. The origional was practically a student film shot on (i think) 16mm. Dead till dawn was a 'real film' made with actors and a proper crew, not just a bunch of passionate and highly inventive friends. #3 definately was a continuation of #2 I love all 3 movies for 3 different reasons .. but they are all pure Raimi. |
...
I was just watching Evil Dead (for like the millionth time...) and I thought something.
That movie could have been a million times scarier and I think it would have been better if it had been a totally serious scary movie. The sequels are purposely funny and they are great, but people forget that Evil Dead wasn't supposed to be funny at all. I think the remake is going to be better than the original. I think Sam Raimi truly wants to remake this movie into what he wanted in the first place, a truly horrifying movie. This time around he'll have a budget that doesn't limit his creativity. You'll see, it's going to be great. Edit: Just found out how little Raimi really cares... It could have been so great if he'd direct it. :( |
I kinda want them to remake it. I heard Campbell and Raimi were producing it..
But all we need is another remake..oh well theres still not very many good "horror" movies coming out in this day and age so if it comes out..i'll see it.....if it doesnt..no sweat off my back.. |
