i wouldnt exactly consider the Cramps punk .. but they often had a horror theme to their music

Some are psychobilly but their close enough to each other i suppose. For additional bands, search for "Horror for Lucid" which is a thread i made on this site naming a bunch of horror bands. Hope that helps!

other than Rocket From the Crypts name (and the scream blackula scream album title) i didnt think the songs were horror oriented ?

but that makes me wonder, where did you see them? they aren't well known because they aren't on big name record labels. They just usually play local shows like in recreation centers and bars. I should know because I have seen Blitzkid a bunch of times because I am good friends with the guitarist, T.B. Monstrosity.

I dont know if they're the best, but they discovered horror rock basically, same with the Undead.

I'd have to say the Murderdolls. Not really punk though. More Like Motlëy Crüe on Horror. I highly recommend them.

I would say 'Seeds Of Deceit' for the 'horror' part, but they are NOT punk...They sound a LOT like GWAR...Which is more 'Death Metal'

i agree they are dorks.....however they have a handfull of songs...like.....too fast for love...looks that kill and shout at the devil, that in my opinion are really good in the car, especially when driving drunk....or when having unprotected sex with a really skanky lady to.

You guys are missing a classic horror punk band: The Damned!

Check out their first couple of records. They got more dramatic later and had some cool use of the pipe organ but the early stuff is all "Feel the Pain" and "Plan 9, Channel 7."
You love it, trust me.

Also Deadbolt. God, its so badly recorded but if you can find the "Shrunked Head" cd (I think from Cargo Records) you'll laugh your ass off! Songs like "Shrunken Head" and "Down in the Lab." OH God, these guys are funny!
