Cry for Vod....

Yes folks, today it is official....

Nothing that thins the blood for 2weeks prior, and 2 weeks after....

Oct 27 i go into surgery to fix my fucked-up sinuses. and no blood thinners means.. No Alchohol!

As many of you may have noticed, the only reason i diont have Budman's or Shanks' reputation as a big drinker is simply a lack of advertising. I love beer. i love scotch. and whiskey. and vodka, and tequila, the list goes on.

Last night i had 2 cans of fosters to say goodbye to the tasty amber liquid for an entire month. Now, i amnot a heavy enough drinker to qualify as dependant, but i do love my booze. i like at least a beer or two a day. And now i can have nothing.

BTW, is caffeine a blood thinner? i know it is a diurhettic(sp?), but if it is a blood thinner, i am going to cry. i quit smoking years ago,and with alchohol or caffeine, i will be viseless. i may go insane.

Light a candle for me, and tie ribbon with the Bass logo on it....

Arioch 10-13-2004 08:19 AM

I feel ya....its like when i quit smoking cigarettes by taking up MASSIVE pot smoking then i quit smoking pot by taking up alcoholism......now i just dont have any money for alcohol so i too am viseless.......goodluck man....

newb 10-13-2004 08:22 AM

I'm on my forth beer in honor of your abstinence. Not really.....I'm still at work.
But I will make up for it tonight. Look on the bright side. You may lose a few pounds and you still have a hot wife to bring you a soda.

although, if i binge like i did when i quit smoking, i wont lose an ounce :)

Ninja Moo 10-13-2004 08:29 AM

I'll drink a Mark's Hard Lemonade for you. And smoke some cigarettes.

Cheeba V2.0 10-13-2004 08:32 AM

Yes, vod, ceffeine DOES thin the blood..., well, I'm not actually 100% on that, but I know it DOES shrink your blood vessels -
that's why I use it every time I have a migraine to releive at least SOME of the tension.
Whether or not shrinking the blood vessels and thinning the blood are the same thing...I dunno, I would think that it would lead to thinning the blood slightly, no?

Vodstok 10-13-2004 08:44 AM

All signs point to "Yes" for caffeine being a blood thinner.... My mood just went downhill....

I just read soemthing that said grapefruit juice stimulates the same kind of energy boost that caffeine causes....hmmm.... i DO like pink grapefruit juice... now all i need is somethign that simulates alchohol :D

The surgery is supposed to cure me of my chronic stuffiness, so you are pretty much on the money. Plus, they are going to try and "vaccinate" me against my cat and dog allergies. and it may cure my snoring!

I suppose that is worth a month of suffering. However, i do drink enough coffee that stopping is going to cause me headaches......:(

Fluff the Ho 10-13-2004 09:15 AM

does this mean no aspirin?? DOH

B.

Vodstok 10-13-2004 09:18 AM

Nope. only ibuprofin. Or percocet after it's done.

Arioch 10-13-2004 09:47 AM

What exactly are they doing to your sinuses Vod, it must be pretty bad to need surgery for them...shit...

Ya right after the Demoral and Morphine haha:D

Although i found the comedown from Introvenious Morphine to be FAR worse than the pain was in the first place.....much vomiting etc. etc.....

But when your on it.......

Vodstok 10-13-2004 09:53 AM

Septoplasty. Deviated septum. For real, not just an excuse for plastic surgery, as they wont actually be modifying my nose (and if they do, my grandkid's grandkids will be going to harvard off the lawsuit money....)

Apparently my septum (separates both sides of your sinuses), is VERY crooked, causing me to get stuffed noses in the miiddle of summer, even when i have had no allergic reactions

this should clear that up, and i will probably be able to breathe normally for the first time in years.

LOL

i actually was doing a backstroke in a pool once when i lived ion germany (had to be 14 maybe?) and swam full speed, head-first into the side of the pool. i was concious, but limp. the lifeguard pulled me out by my arm since i was right there, but i was limp like a ragdoll. no swimming for me for an hour after that...

Ninja Moo 10-13-2004 11:20 AM

I've had three surgeries. (3 c-sections, tubes tied during the last c-section). Morphine was great the first day, then it made me throw up and itch, I had red hives, and scratch marks and bleeding all over from scratching.

I liked the tamer drugs they sent me home with. Those were nice, I was in a haze for a long while.

Rager 10-13-2004 11:32 AM

Really sorry to hear that Vodstok, hope you are well after the surgey on big FUCKING nose
Sorry to hear that....

Peace..

Ya it made me itch pretty bad as i came off but the second it went in ill never forget.....the cold rush up my arm into my heart, then more cold as it went to my brain and legs and then it was already taking effect.....probably the best/most hardcore drug i've ever had....

Ill never do oxycotten tho, (even tho is based on morphine) or heroin tho.....ive seen my friends on that shit and no thanks.....

MichaelMyers 10-13-2004 03:57 PM
