More R-rated F13TH releases?

It does seem, however, that with each re-release Paramount are at least re-instating previously excised gore footage... though most of the films are still a long way from being "uncut" (their last DVD release of the first instalment was an entirely new version, with some re-instated gore but less of other bits!).

zwoti 10-15-2004 04:23 AM

from another site...

Quote:

Anyone read the new issue of Fangoria?? It has a feature on the F13 boxset, and the guys resposible for putting the set together actually say there will be another release of the F13 films if the get more of the missing footage, either as single special editions or another boxset... however they urge everyone to go out and buy this set so they can fund more work on a new set (prob. to show Paramount its viable)

EXTR3MIST 10-15-2004 04:35 AM

Paramount are taking the piss now, it would seem.

The complete uncut versions are probably sitting right there, but if they can still reap in the cash for cut, but "slightly better" DVD releases until then...

I saw that on Ebay! It has all 11 movies including Jason vs Freddy.

Only thing is, because only UK people have it, they're charging $15+ for shipping..

I also found a video tape of the first two episodes of the NOES tv series.. also only in the UK ...

zwoti 10-15-2004 05:48 AM

don't forget it will be region 2, so a multiregion dvd player required.

I didn't bid for that reason.

though it will be vhs... it will be pal format, US tv uses the NTSC format.

i preordered my friday the 13th boxset from playusa.com and it is wicked, im also getting the nightmare on elm street boxset from there too (it's better than the region 2 boxset), altho the Uk has a halloween digipack boxset of all the halloween films im waiting for a US version to come out, ive decided that all my horror will be imports from now on due to the way the bbfc cut british releases even tho they say they don't (lying fecks), for me playusa.com is the best place for Uk residents to purchase import dvd's, has anyone found a better site than playusa.com (both dvdconcept and usdirect ive tried and not been impressed, i ordered cyborg 2 from dvdconcept middle of last year and i am still waiting for it to be sent)

Would a Xbox or PS2 dvd player work?

as far as i'm aware, only in whatever region you are in

I got Halloween box set off ebay for £25, which was nice - being from the UK, i tend to flip between Play and CDwow - which tends to have some R3 and 4 stuff too - including a R3 DOTD2004 exclusive cut (altho as far as I can tell you just get a Shaun of the Dead trailer - the run time is the same as DOTD unrated)

horror_master 11-07-2004 11:13 AM

I just this collection today, it was a brithday present form my parents, it so cool, I'm going to actually start watching it right now. Bye:D :D :D

tic 11-07-2004 11:49 AM

my brother got the Halloween collection on DVD last year, but the sneaky sods forget one little thing - one of the parts, can't remember which, possibly the curse (the one where michael is after the baby... gets the syringes in his neck) is missing/not in the collection. but they have now released another collection which includes resurrection and the other film - bastards. shouldn't bother me as i didn't buy it anyway, but a big rip-off, if you already bought the others as my bro has done (including resurrection)

so if you are going to buy the collection make sure that it is the latest one (2004) and not the earlier version:mad:

mad now, where's my gun

Horrorfiend 11-07-2004 10:23 PM

I bought this the day it came out and on part 5 it skips 25 or so seconds into the film. I tried to take it back but the cocksuckers at Walmart wouldn't exchange it for another set. So I sold it to a used cd/dvd store for $20. After this experience I'm not buying many more dvds. Only Buffy the Vampire Slayer box sets and music dvds.
