Buying Near Dark

I'm buying Near Dark tonight and plan on watching it soon. Is it good?

Yes.

The ending was a little disappointing, but the bloodsucking/superhuman "family" are as hard as nails - and Katherine Bigelow's stylish direction is on top form here.

Pretty good flick. One of the best vamp movies I've seen.

Good Flix, I really like Bill Paxton's performance, one of his better in my opine.

I thought I had seen this but mabey I haven't. Shit how did a vamp movie slip through my fingers? Guess I will have to go rent it!!

This movie is awesome … maybe the best vampire movie ever made … the ending was fantastic! I think I said this before when you asked about female Horror directors, fantastic script, direction and Lance Hendrickson … what more do you want.

… and the vampires don’t even go to one of those stupid techno clubs!!!

Too many kids in The Lost Boys, not one dies. They're taking us for morons. The script and overall feel are great tough.

... Very different these Vampires are not camp, they are hard as hell vermin that live off rednecks and hicks in the backwater towns of the USA, it’s almost a kind of vampire road movie!

No techno, No S&M, No frilly Shirts, No silly "make victims fall in love them" ... these Vampires are bad Mutha f**kers!

Finally watched it last night. I'm not a big fan of vampires but this one impressed me. No garlic, no stake through the heart, AND no crosses. It made sunlight more threatening. On the downside, the ending is predictable and that cure was kind of dumb. But overall I liked it a lot.

So......Dusk Till Dawn right?:p

Vamps don’t turn into silly creatures in this ... (although I do love dusk till dawn) ... No bats either...

I liked the cure and the ending was fantastic reminded me of "King of New York" ... a fantastic anti climax (In a good way)

Near Dark is much older than Dusk till Dawn ... There are not really any similarities at all!!!:cool:
