Heeheehee . . . we finally disagree on something, Avenger! I think this is a first, isn't it? :) That's cool, man. I respect your opinion, but I *loved* the miniseries remake. I think just as much as Kubrick's original, even. Why? Because it was a much more faithful adaptation of Stephen King's novel THE SHINING. I thought Steven Weber did a fantastic job as a very *slowly* deteriorating Jack Torrance, first and foremost. I'm not saying it was flawless, of course -- the Dick Halloran actor was its weakest point, of course (that guy couldn't hold a candle to Catman Strothers!) and the little boy wasn't too great -- but I still loved it. I believe it captured the tragedy in King's original novel so much better than Kubrick's version, though I certainly wouldn't go so far as to say it was *better* . . . . I just like 'em equally. Been meaning to pick it up on DVD, just haven't got the chance yet . . . . James N. http://members.tripod.com/~NEWMANATOR/index.html |

I liked both the mini-series and the movie:) |

Freddy, would you mind me asking how old you are? I saw the movie when I was pretty young and thought it was lame, but now I think it's cool. I think "The Shining" is one of the movies you're able to comprehend better when you get older, IMO. |

Scatman's great though. I loved him on Transformers. |

I love original... hate the mini |

The original is one my favorite horror films. The mini-series is pure crap. |

I'm with Ritualistic and ShamSham. The original is one of the best horror films ever made and the miniseries is just embarassing. Though I did like seeing the scary topiary animals... I think it's hysterical that Stephen King hates the Kubrick film; it's the best thing that's ever come from one of King's books. |
