The Dead Hate The Living

Has anyone else seen this movie. It is a full moon entertainment movie? (which has made the Puppet Master Movies and Demonic Toys, etc.). Its kinda on the cheesey bad effects side but its damned entertaining.

I know Full Moon owns the rights. I'm pretty sure they might have produced it, but not positive.

As for the film itself, I liked it, if nothing else for the Savini and Fulci references. Also, the actors were more fleshed out than in other Full Moon films.

I thought the cover of this movie looked a whole hell of a lot cooler than the movie itself turned out to be.

Oats, I'm with ya, homey... This one sucked! (But what do you expect from Full Moon? Even their best movie, Puppet Master is average at best.)

agreed!

...and agreed!!full moon will forever be following(abeit poorly)in roger corman's footsteps.puppetmaster, pit and the pendelum,meridian.....these represent the fruits of their labor, and while i like charles band his movies will always be little more than b-fair.and the rob zombie character stunk as well.

I was disappointed by this one, and I normally love Full Moon. The title is great, though. I also thought it was interesting that the main bad dude looked like Rob Zombie and one of the main zombies was basically the same costume as Tiny from House of 1000 Corpses. Anyone know of any connection?

bwind22 10-09-2004 04:09 AM

Rob Zombie probably ripped them off. That whole movie (House of 1000 Corpses) is borrowed material. Rob Zombie couldn't think of something original, come on! Anyone see any similarities to Texas Chainsaw Massacre?

It's one of the better recent low budget zombie efforts, but the constant smart-ass references to other movies and creators are a new menace in modern horror (thanks, Wes!).

I'd like to take these fanboys' tongues out of their cheeks and stick them back in their asses where they belong; don't waste your budgets on trying to make films that look like Romero and Hooper and all your other heroes - do a scary zombie movie for christ's sake and start upsetting the audience again instead of wasting time and atmosphere by letting them in on your clever in-jokes.

Wink wink.
