I just watched Amadeus. Still one of my all time favorite movies.
Absolutely brilliant. |
La Bete
The Witch |
two movies i've seen b/f, but had the sudden urge to watch again:
silence of the lambs: what can i say, still one of the best examples of character acting. eternal sunshine of the spotless mind: a brilliant movie and an instant favorite for me. it jumped right into my top ten movies of all time list. |
The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada
A modern day western that strongly reminded me of Clint Eastwood's directorial work, as it has the same sort of dark, fatalistic tone that Eastwood's works do. The film features excellent performances all around, but particularly from Tommy Lee Jones (who also did a fantastic job in the director's seat) and Barry Pepper. The ambiguity of the ending may turn some people off, but I think that it was essential to the film's central theme of redemption. Great film. I recommend it highly. Overall: 8.5/10 |
Cemetery Man
Il Mare Dead or Alive Il Mare was suggested to me and it wasn't bad, not really fitting to my tastes in movies but I enjoyed it. |

Last watched movies for me...Speed and Dirty Harry. I'm going to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie today. After I see it I'll have to go back and reread a ton of posts because I tried to avoid all those spoilers.:D |

Screw Speed, what did you think of Dirty Harry? |

Some people probably like the movie for its quotable lines, but the storyline is what strikes me most. I'm pretty sure most people have seen this classic, but just in case...SPOILERS!!!!! I wanted to smack Scorpio when he's laying on the football field wailing about his rights and needing a doctor, and I wanted to wallop that DA and judge when they were saying they wouldn't/couldn't charge Scorpio because Harry didn't have a search warrant and tortured the poor guy. I think in a lot of ways (without getting overly philosophical) that the storyline of the movie reflects what we see in society today. (I guess I'm thinking about the Jessica Lunsford case in Florida and that piece of scum who killed her.) When it comes to tough guys, very few have anything on good ol' Clint. When he pulls out that Magnum, I go weak in the knees. (And I'm the kind of gal who gets tearyeyed at a papercut.:p ) And there aren't many guys who can make standing on an overpass waiting for a school bus to come by look cool, but Clint makes it happen. I guess to answer your question, Austin, I really liked it. I just don't know how to give short answers.:D |
