"Smiley Face" 5/10

A real stoner movie, starring Anna Faris. Pretty funny... on weed.

"Waiting" (2005) 6-7/10

Totally retarded movie with a tiny, tiny story. Just what I needed.

The last scene with the new guy flipping out was definitely the highlight.

Most definitely. I wasn't high when i watched it. Big mistake..

It was actually a pretty sad ending for such a goofy flick.

"The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death" 5-6/10

Wow... that was disappointing. ::sad::

The director obviously believe nobody has seen the first movie, coz you have to wait untill the halfway mark before something starts to happen in this one, and even longer before we actually get to see the woman in black. Ridiculous. A sequal should at least give us more action than it's predecessor, coz what reason is there to hide what we've already seen?
Well, at least the last 20 minutes gives the viewer non-stop action. Too bad it's cliches and jump scares all the way. Actually the entire movie consists of cliches and jumps scares between its slow ass build-up, and the very few times it attemps something slow and creepy it cut away way too fast or gives us a cliche jump scare instead. FUCK YOUUUUU!! ::mad::

The only thing I really liked about this movie was the small cameo by the lead actor of the original movie from 1989. Also know as Harry Potter's dad.

You know it's a bad sign when they start with the perfectly mysterious title, "The Woman in Black", and completely destroy it with the subtitle, "The Angel of Death".

True. And besides that, there's just all kinds of things wrong with that subtitle. Angel of death, my ass..

"Girlhouse" 5/10

After an awsome intro, this one sadly turned out to be a mediocre slasher. All characters and conversations where so awkward and cringe-inducing you couldn't wait for the pshycho to show up and start slashing away. That was a very long wait.

Well, it was a semi-decent directorial debut by Trevor Matthews, the lead actor in Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer. If you haven't seen him or the movie, check this scene out. It could've been taken out of Analyze This.

Hilarious stuff.

FALLING DOWN (1993). Michael Douglas and Robert Duvall head a great cast about an average guy trying to deal with everyday life BS and losing. His reaction to many of these situations is what I (and probably many others) would love to do at one time or another. Makes me glad I live far away from any big city. ****

Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead (2014)

http://cdn3-www.shocktillyoudrop.com...ood-poster.jpg

Despite the micro Budget (a bit over 100K), this is a very solid entry into the zombie genre. Lots of typical Ozzie humour and an interesting plot twist make this stand out from the pack.

INSOMNIA 1997

A police officer trying to solve a young girl's violent murder begins to suffer from the effects of insomnia. The murder occurs in a town above the Arctic circle bathed in constant daylight. During the investigation, he makes a horrendous mistake which further endangers his mental stability.

Loved it, could feel his anguish.

Not to be confused with the 2002 version with Al Pacino.

A decent what-the-fuck-is-going-on flick.

The version I watched is the original. It is from Norway and is subtitled. I also liked the Al Pacino/Robin Williams one. R.W. was pretty cool in it.

One of the worst movies I ever watched, made no fuckin' sense what so ever. I am a fan of low budget indie films but c'mon have some kind of structure.

Yeah, for what it was it was decent. i wouldn't say 7/10, but yeah it wasn't as terrible as it could have been.

Latest movies.

Mercy. Meh. 5/10, too many convenient things happened. And they film took too long to get to the mythos stuff. I won't say what mythos stuff so as not to spoil.

Mocking Jay Part 1. 6/10. I enjoy the films, but I don't think I could ever give any of the hunger games movies above a six. Too bothered they changed the main character from brown to white. I mean what's her name...the actress that plays Katniss. She's excellent in anything she does. I'm not criticizing her, just the people who had control over that particular decision.

Faultless from start to finish.
The gore, the depravity was amazing.
FX perfect.
Storyline, sick.
Embodiment of perfection.

"Digging Up the Marrow" 5/10

IMDB description:

"A documentary exploring genre based monster art takes an odd turn when the filmmakers are contacted by a man who claims he can prove that monsters are indeed real."

I really liked the idea behind the story, so it was disappointing to see it executed this badly with WAY too much time spend on dialogue about monsters and too few actual monster moments to make up for it. A fun idea wasted.

The movie did have some subtle humor, irony, decent acting, and a whole lot of product placements and references to the directors former movies. Oh, and the few monsters you get to see are pretty damn cool.

Same here. It was too much Adam Green and not enough Marrow.

Yup, that about sums it up. At least he played the role as himself rather well.

Deliver Us From Evil.

I stopped watching to do something, didn't feel like finishing just then. I still have no interest. Everything is predictable. Characters are...blah. Pass on it.

anglewitch 02-24-2015 03:12 PM

Just now got Fantastic Planet.

Very bizarre animated film. It was animated by some guy who used to work in an asylum. Pretty weird for a roger corman film.

Horror/comedy from New Zealand. Kylie is ordered to move back in with her Mum to serve a house arrest 8-month sentence. One night she hears her mum calling a late night radio program talking about the house being haunted. Is it?

I loved this movie. Funny when it should be and the Mum is a hoot.

"Housebound" 7/10

Glad I gave this one a second try, coz I really enjoyed the last half which was both entertaining, creative and fun. I thought the therapist was a hoot.

I am pretty open-minded but do you think an evil spirit could ever possess an inanimate object to that degree?

anglewitch 02-25-2015 05:28 AM

Yeah probably. But it is still funny that something would want to possess a nerd. Maybe because they are easy to motivate.
