Some genuinely laugh-out-loud moments fill this wonderfully humorous take on the world's greatest detective's spare moments. The cameo by Christopher Lee was a real topping on the cake! Recommended to all Sherlock fans, specially those who are curious about what the man used to do when he wasn't busy cracking the most difficult of cases. * * * * |
^Huge Sherlock fan and of course I loved this - depsite not having my favourite actor playing the Consulting Detective:

Last i watched Zombi Holocaust (1980) again. Last time watched it some time ago.
Good movie especially for 70-80 splatter and italo horror lovers. Some original special effects and the soundtrack fits the movie well. Some of the scenes even today are pretty rough stuff. "The members of an expedition in search for the last faithful of Kito, the cannibal god, land on a small island in the Moluccas (East Indies) and are soon hunted by cannibals and zombies" ![]() http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079788/?ref_=nm_flmg_dr_6 |

Hellbound: Hellraiser II 3/10 I enjoyed some of the special effects, and the premise, and was looking for Hellraiser to take a bigger peak "into the box". But the story and characters was extremely shallow. Wasn't much for the mind to munch on. They have this psychiatrist who's into the box's dimensions, but film didn't explore why in the least... besides the obvious, but even if it was the obvious, it didn't present the obvious well. |

Upper Michigan is incredibly beautiful. Wife and I did a lighthouse road trip in 2008 (stayed at Harbor Springs) and Lake Huron was stunning. The Upper Peninsula even more so, although I was wondering what a "Yooper" was and had to try a "Pastie" after seeing all those signs. |
Night of the Creeps is on Netflix, so I gotta watch that one tonight.

Beyond the Darkness (aka Bui Omega) (1979) Pretty decent exploitation splatter flick that lives up to its reputation. I'm sure most people have seen it, but I finally got around to it. |
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME 1981
A teenage girl struggles to recover from a tragedy while her friends seem to be randomly disappearing. This was like most 80's slasher movies, which is alright with me, but they ramped it up a bit with the storyline. Pretty decent. |

ROBOT JOX 1989
Pretty much loved this movie. In one possible future, gargantuan robots duke out the property rights for the world. They are manned by the top "jox" much like the Power Rangers in the Megazord. Definitely sci-fi but scary for me because I'm afraid of robots. But they were very cool.. :danger: |
I watched The Shining again the other day...and for the first time, i realised that I no longer like it...or at least not as much as I used to.
Sad day! |

DANCE OF THE DAMNED 1989
A vampire offers a pole dancer a fair bit of coin to just talk til 6:00am. She doesn't know he's a vampire but that somethings strange in the neighborhood. Once he has her locked in his house, he wants her to tell him everything she knows about living in daytime. And then he tells her he will will need to drink her blood. Its a pretty different story and I had to appreciate that. |
The Devil's Rain -- 9/10; My fave movie involving Satanism.

Watched two of my favourite Attenborough movies last night....
Séance on a Wet Afternoon 10 Rillington Place What an absolute legend, one of my favourite actors and an amazing talent both as actor and director. |

JAWS 4: THE REVENGE (1987) I wanted to like this film but it focused too much on character development with Jaws as a kind of adjunct to the film. I like dramas but if you're going to name the film Jaws then you have to have the title character front and center. Also, without giving too much away, it wasn't clear to me how they defeated Jaws at the end. Skip... |

Nightmare (1981) -- 9/10; It has that wonderful early 80s atmosphere and a very memorable ending.

Faceless (1987)
http://s018.radikal.ru/i528/1205/14/27b9e601cc3f.jpg Well, this was a pleasant surprise. Apparently, the director is known primarily for his erotic films, but Faceless gets pretty nasty in a not-so-sexy way (subtle hint: hot women lose their faces). 8/10 |
NIGHT OF THE DEMONS 1988
Hammer posted that she was going to be watching this, and unsure if I'd seen it or not, I found it and watched it myself. I LOVED IT!! I don't know how I missed it back in the day. I have enjoyed so many films just from reading about them on this forum. All Hell breaks loose at a Halloween party in an old mansion that once was a funeral home. Cheese runs rampant here!!! |

I, Madman (1989) -- 5/10
The premise of fiction becoming reality through an unwitting agent has been a fave of mine for quite some time. The directing and acting were forgivably spotty, while the FX and the script itself barely met mediocrity. |
