You know what? Im done with writing full-on movie reviews for everything I watch. It takes some of the enjoyment out of watching movies, cause I always have that little voice in the back of my head saying "be sure to put that in the review!". Bah, Im done. I'll still post some comments and probably a rating, but no more reviews for awhile. Not like anyone probably cares.

Now, with that off my chest I just wacted the 2 newest Masters of Horror DVDs, back-to-back.

Sick Girl was really odd, but I did enjoy it in a way. Angela Bettis was just wierd, but Erin Brown/"Misty Mundae" did a pretty good job. Probably the wekest MoH episode Ive seen thusfar, but still pretty good.

7/10

As for Deer Woman, I loved it. It still cant beat out Cigarette Burns for the top spot, but otherwise this is my favourite episode yet. Well acted and flat out hilarious, inculding one of the best/funniest dream sequences (well, sort of a dream) that Ive ever seen. Alot of fun.

8.5/10

Ichi 1
This was weird because I was expecting more gore and less of a story when really the opposite is true. I thought the story in this one was more coherent than the first and the gore was tuned way down (althought I don't think it could have compared to the Ichi the Killer with the budget it seemed to be constrained by). I thought it was pretty decent, although like the original I think it needed less semen.

My fav episode of the entire MoH series was Cigarette Burns. Havent seen the Miike one yet though. Hopefully they ll release the box set of the entire series here soon after the UK release.

Have you seen all the other episodes aside from Miikes?

I dont get Showtime, so Im only watching them as the DVDs are released. The ones Im looking forward to the most are Jenifer, Fair Haired Child, and Dance of the Dead (even though Im not a big fan of Hooper)

Nightwatch

This movie started off bad for me, when I found that the original Russian language track had been deleted. Instead, they chose to dub it into English, and just give all the characters stupid imitation Russian accents. Dubbing is one of my pet peeves, and I was really shocked that the original language track was nowhere to be found. Very, very disappointing. I thought we had moved past this nonsense. As for the film itself, I thought it was very flashy, style over substance type stuff. Some of the effects shots were really cool, but the story wasn't really enough to keep my interest. Overall: 5/10 (0/10 for dub track.)

Yeah, and I ll tell you in advance that the Hooper one sucked. I d rate Jenifer 2nd behind Cigarette Burns and Chocolate 3rd, though I have a sneaky feeling that Miike's unseen episode could well be the best one in the entire series.

How was Fair Haired Child? Im a huge fan of Mallone's House on Haunted Hill remake, so Im looking forward to his episode.
