So Slave of the Cannibal God (also known as Mountain of the Cannibal God), not too bad really. It was campy, didn't have much of a plot, and had gratuitous amounts of gore, nudity, and animal torture of course but the acting was decent and you get some nice shots of Ursula Andress nude. It's worth sitting through the first hour and a half of the film (somewhat drawn out), just to watch the final scenes that take place in The Mountain of the Cannibal God. I think it will appeal to fans of Italian exploitation cinema, and being one of those fans, I give it a 7/10.

Yes she is hairy, the animal torture isn't that bad, mainly animal on animal type of violence and I can only remember one really graphic scene of human on animal violence, which is obviously fake.

"Equinox" (1970)
Plot: IMDB
Four friends are attacked by a demon while on a picnic, due to possession of a tome of mystic information. Told in flashbacks by the sole survivor.

Phantom's Review: What an amazing turd of a movie. Amateurish acting, directing and story. The only thing worth watching is some half decent stop motion animation FX by Jim Danforth. It;s a shame innocent film had to die for this.

Good if you like plotless movies with really bad people being terrible and sorta making it have a good ending.... I think. It was ok.

1971 - Legacy of Blood.

Great actors - but a real stinker. Hard to sit through.

I should have got the copy that was presented by Elvira. At least I would have been entertained by the hostess.

Cute little low-budget zombedy. Not perfect, but definitely enjoyable.

3/5.

Watched this for the second time. Ultimately fun and highly recommended if you haven't seen it already.

Ip Man (2008)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...anposter02.jpg

It's a Semi-Biographical movie about Bruce Lee's Kung Fu Master. It's set during the second Sino-Japanese war in the 1930's. I wasn't really sure what to expect but I thought it was a pretty excellent movie. More Hollywood than historical fact, but it was still nominated for 12 awards in Hong Kong and won Best Picture and Best Action Choreography. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy martial arts films at all. There's also a Part 2 which I'm hopefully going to see later this week. Anyway, I'd give it an 8.5/10.

The Fields (2011)

Very odd, bizarre, and ultimately unsettling movie. Not sure I would recommend it per se, but it definitely creeped me out.

Yeah, that's why I wouldn't recommend it per se - I totally get why people thought it was boring and it took me a while to get into it... But I'm going to be honest; they definitely wanted to set a certain mood and it legitimately creeped me out.

Looked at a few reviews and I think that viewers are really polarized here - After a mediocre review in Rue Morgue I was surprised to see a lot of positive reviews when I Googled it.

roshiq 09-17-2012 12:26 PM

Deadhead was a fine zombedy but didn't like The Fields. Yeah it was boring but more frustrating part is it's got some potential in the story but to some extent it turned out nothing at the end!! And I hate this kind of films.

Took a break from horror to watch this classic western. Awesome storyline: does might make right when there is no government? Highly recommended.

IP Man is an awesome movie! I was a bit disappointed with the second film, it got a bit unrealistic with it's fight scenes, felt out of it's element.

I love that movie

It was interesting. Thought the trolls were kinda goofy looking, but overall enjoyed it.

Straker 09-17-2012 05:00 PM

I gotta be honest, I really liked the style of the trolls, they kinda had a fairytale feel to them which really sat nicely with the theme of the movie, was sort of like a fairytayle meets real life type of feel to the whole film....

Come on, Hammy...they are trolls & trolls should look like trolls; unless you expected them to be in 6 pack Prometheus like humanoid figure!:D

Prometheus (2012)

http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/...etheus3in1.jpg

Forsaken by a greater concept (the original script/idea that leaked on the net), muddled through some confusing plot-holes, quite a few mistreated side characters and the twisted display of "Alien-God's" pyramid like laboratory & its forbidden creatures, the film still manages to shows off the sparks of Ridley Scott's dark sci-fi magic in its own convoluted way and I enjoyed every bit of it. Needless to say, Rapace & Theron finely fits into their role & Fassbender was bit menacingly creepy but I'm kind of afraid whether this & some of his earlier other jobs may lead to see him as a typecast for more psychotic type roles in future; cause I'd like to see him in more diversifying characters. Idris Elba is a good & cool actor but no offense, the way they portrayed him in the film, he kinda looked more of a truck driver than a captain of a spaceship. Anyway, hope some mystery surrounding humanoid Alien-God's puzzling activity will come to the surface of our understanding in its sequel...Paradise! Though (as V said) it's most probably a spinoff for a new trilogy set on Alien universe but still I think it left quite open to become the prequel story for Ridley's 1979 masterpiece. So, let's hope best for the Paradise.

First off i have to say that this is the best use of the found footage concept i've ever seen. The camera work, editing, acting and dialogue are all very amateurish which actually makes it feel like you're watching found footage instead of just a movie made in that style.

That being said, the stories could've been better. Obviously having five short movies plus the arc surrounding the whole thing doesn't give you much time but all the stories are way too short, way too quick and nothing is ever explained enough. Every story left me wondering what the hell just happened.

Some were better then others. The first wasn't bad and was a good one to start off. The second was boring. The third was interesting enough that i would've liked to see it as a full length movie. The fourth was weird and didn't make sense and the fifth was easily the best.

The story of the guys finding the v/h/s tapes ends really abruptly and like the other stories isn't explained enough.

But i enjoyed it. It's just not as great as some people are making it out to be. I can see some people liking it, other's hating it but no one loving it.

Actually I did love it, I enjoyed it way better than the slow paced Paranormal Activity movies, only The Blair Witch Project tops this one for me.

I liked the remake too simply for the reason that the daughter lives and makes it back to the house. It never made sense to me in the original how the parent's knew exactly where to find their dead daughters body
