They're definitely fully milking it- have you seen the amount of merch that has come out for this movie? T-shirts, mockingjay pin replicas (some cheap-ish, some expensive), board games, card games, posters, cookbooks, etc.

The books are a bit different than the movie and I think in the later movies, it will become even more different from the book. They left some stuff out of the movie that I thought was pretty symbolic in the book.

Mockingjay was an awful book so I can't see how they're going to draw it out into two movies unless they completely change it. http://insidemovies.ew.com/2012/07/1...release-dates/

The Grey

Better then i expected. The first half was a little annoying and i couldn't care less about the characters at first but as it went on, the characters became more fleshed out and the story got better.

Fantastic film.

Have you seen The Day After? Would make for a great double bill with the above.

There ARE actually places like that!!

yeah i thought it wasnt too bad either, was quite original considering it was ANOTHER evil child movie.ireland scenery looks alot like new zealand.

Hmmm...

Its a fantastic film and STILL depressing as hell. Found it much harder hitting than the Day After (maybe because of my location).

Another low budget Brit flick you may like which goes along the pagan route is Kill list.Give it a go,its worth a watch.

Ditto. Looking forward to check out The Day After (1983) & The War Game (1965). Thanks for the heads up. :)

Eddie: The Sleepwalking Cannibal (2012)

http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/...dhdc/Eddie.jpg

To some extent, it's like Frankenstein meets The Driller Killer! A beautiful dark horror comedy with a good cast, fine gore & from the beginning to the very end, there's some hilarious radio broadcasting!!

Recommended.

Detention (2011)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../detention.jpg

Wow. What a blast. Clearly an homage film to both the horror genre as well as 80s and 90s pop culture. It's frenetic, bizarre, and utterly entertaining. Not what I expected (I expected Scream), so I was really impressed.

HIGHLY recommended.

4/5.

Also, now I think I officially have a crush on Josh Hutcherson... Who is 10 years younger than me and wouldn't even be able to meet me at a bar... legally. :o

Atraxi 08-14-2012 02:41 PM

That cover is really awesome and it sounds like a movie I'd like. I think I'll check it out this week.

Apparently I have a thing for younger men. Who knew?

Wild Bill (2011)

A pretty good Britt drama with a solid cast & a fine moving story. Recommended.

went to the Drive-In last night [been awhile]

saw

The Campaign---a few lol moments..typical Will Ferrel movie

Ted---a few more lol moments...pretty funny shit

The Villain 08-15-2012 02:53 PM

The Illusionist

Not bad but i liked The Prestige better.

Elvis_Christ 08-15-2012 10:12 PM

Battleship

Really corny and dumb but I didn't hate it as much as 90% of people seem to (perhaps because I didn't pay to watch it).

Pretty decent. Fans of 80s slashers, William Shatner and Michael Ironside wouldn't want to miss this one.

Excellent early Craven flick. Sharon Stone looked so yummy in her younger days.

I watched Jaws again and reignited my love for Richard Dreyfuss. My middle son had never seen it before and thoroughy enjoyed it too despite being raised in an era of CGI .

A French language psycho-thriller from Canada that's exceptionally well executed with a seemingly simple plot centers around an accidental captivity of an young film student in a residence of a righteous psychopath & fanatic chess player. I guess for it's very limited release issue or somehow, this superb gem of a psychological horror went under radar from us & most of the genre fans in past decade; cause a film with such an intense characterization, character's challenging revelation towards the end throughout keeping an interesting premise & beautifully crafted screenplay is unmissable! The cast did an excellent job, particularly the actors played the main protagonist & antagonist on the lead made the show fascinating to watch. The film comes with a good production value, not so much gore except if you count a room of bleeding wall & its floor flooded with blood! The entertainment more lies on the growing psychological tensions between & within the characters & the slowly changing course of events.

Strongly recommended to the sucker of psycho-horror/thriller, especially V, Elvis, Ferox, Angra, Fortunato, Newb & yes...Chorno (even if she eventually comes with a negative feedback, I'd like to read that:rolleyes: but I'm sure she'll love it.:D)

Cabin In The Woods---very clever and lots of fun

Eddie the Sleepwalking Cannibal--suppose to be a horror/comedy...I thought it was more serious of tone about an artist slowly slipping into insanity.

with a bit of humor

Sorry, haters. I liked it for what it is - a nice little entertainment package.

Oh, and do try a chicken burrito at least once.

"Some guy who kills people" 8/10

Again.

I honestly don't understand so few people have seen this little "horror" gem yet. If i'm not mistaken it's only Roshiq and I so far.

For me it's one of the best movies i've seen this year.

mm, my fav type of a movie plot. gotta watch this one too.

Hahaha

You'll get VERY disappointed if you believe that's the story. :D

It's much more about this "social loser" and his relationship with his 11 year old new found daughter, who one day shows up in the icecream shop where he works.

And it's actually more of a comedy than a horror flick.
