Fun poke at film noir movies, with great performances from both Val Kilmer & Robert Downey.

i laughed pretty hard when he briefly met the 'i'm an actress' girl and it snapped to the one scene she was in ..

any horror fan would howl at that one :D

Some obscure Japanese shit:-

Psycho: The Snuff Reels / Suicide Dolls
Squirmfest 1 & 2

What is it with ugly Japanese women? Little to recommend here amidst the grim optically censored hardcore fucking and subsequent gore, or slurping up of live worms and maggots and subsequent human shit (with said maggots still writhing undigested).

Strange how such extremities can appear so boring, and Oriental copulation so unappealing.

And I'm sceptical about the authenticity of the allegedly 'human turd' that is laid and then swallowed.

*** Identity's rating changes to a 4/5
I suck at rating things, okay? I'd be better off not even using a number or star system.

16 Blocks (3.5/5) (Yet I still do...)
First I'll start my saying Bruce Willis sure picks good scripts. This year he acted in Lucky Number Slevin, a destined cult-hit, and now he comes out with this. Likewise, Mos Def does a great job at playing the witness, I was really suprised by his performance to be honest, considering he hasn't done much outside of television. The characters these two play were very well done, and basically carried the story. Great casting.

Now, as for the movie, there's nothing too fresh here. It's a corrupt-cop story, and we've all seen it before. Like I said - the characters carried it. I was intrigued by the premise - having to escort a witness to a hearing 16 blocks away, but within those 16 blocks lies a whole lot more people who want him dead. But I guess I expected something different then what it actually was. Would make a great over-the-top Kill Bill type scene, wouldn't it? Hehe.

I felt myself getting a little tired near the middle, about one hour or so in, but that may have just been because I'm lying in a dark room in my bed, with tons of pillows. Overall it wasn't too bad, at least I didn't have to take "breaks" from the film like what I did with Return of the Living Dead 4, eugh.

It had some good scenes, such as those in the bus, using newspapers as coverage for the window - smart. Also I oddly enjoyed the time that was spent in that old asian guy's apartment. It was calm, a different sort of feeling then most of the rest of the film.

What made the story, and again ties in with the characters carrying it, was the ending. The big reveal at the courthouse, and the "epilogue" of sorts just before the credits. The first was what it needed - a heart-rush, while the second was uplifting, and made you smile.

Slightly above average movie, but nothing too amazing. It gets a 3.5, because of the great acting and use of characters, as well as the ending. Oh, and some additional extra scenes that were mentioned.

I should re-write my top movies of all-time list. I think my standards might have changed slightly.
