Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

https://s26.postimg.org/4mx7jgg21/last_jedi.jpg

THE LAST JEDI was more of like a connecting episode between The Force Awakens (2015) and the one(s) that will come next. Not so much as a standalone film. Felt like they weren't sure enough on what to do with Kylo Ren/BenSolo this time. I understand his torments and past but Johnson kinda played with him, resulting some sort of inconsistency. Expected a darker & twisted origin story for Kylo Ren. First half was quite flat but liked the 2nd half, particularly the finale though. Luke's segment or story arc was treated well. This 8th episode also kind of lacks in action-adventures parts in compare to the recent films in the series. And last but not the least, no more JJB obviously but frustrated that they still haven't added any good non-human character in an important/significant role. I think either Finn or Poe should have been a non-human creature with thoughts, motivation and overall a solid character.
Overall, not a bad film at all but not as entertaining as I thought it'd be. Among this new line of films (JJ Abrams era), here's my ranking:
1. Rogue One
2. The Force Awakens
3. The Last Jedi

>>: B

What the FUCK was that ending? Go back and try again movie.

You know it's bad when I look forward to watching the remake. Which is sad because everything else up until the ending (which I felt was left unfinished) was marvelous! The killer was intriguing as well as scary, the victims you actually liked and felt for, and the suspense was down right Hitchcockian!

), I was anxious to track down the remake to see if it was an improvement over the original. It was not. Well it DID at least have an ending, but at the cost of likable characters, suspense build up, and actual horror.
