maybe this is the start of something huge for us horror fans.

I wish it were that but the theatre takes all the movies being released on the particular weekend and plays them all once at midnight on the day before it's release, i guess you could say it's their special premiere, so technically it only sold out 3 theatres for one time slot. But to take a more positive look at it.... it sold out 600 tickets in about 10 minutes.

Malevolent- I counted over ten shots that were ripped directly from Halloween. Along with dozens of other 'homages' to Texas Chainsaw and Friday the 13TH. It was alright though.

land of the dead

I was hoping for more exploding heads and gore. I liked the movie but Im still not sure how I feel about it. I think I need to go see it again.

The_Return 06-26-2005 07:19 AM

Havnt poted in this thread in awhile, heres a cachup:

Darkman- 1st time I saw it, and it was great. I love a good superhero type movie!

Night of the Living Dead- Definatly not the 1st time for this, just wanted to watch it again before seeing Land of the Dead

Land of the Dead- Kicked ass. Not the best of the series, but certainly earns it's place among them. Best movie Ive seen in theatres in quite awhile, didnt disapoint at all.

Dagon- What a strange movie. I enjoyed it...I think. The old man's face ripping scene definatky made me cringe. Crazy movie...

yeah, there's just some shit that even a great actor and hot girl can't make better.

The_Return 06-26-2005 02:52 PM

The Godfather

Hot day...nothing to do...cooler by my comp than anywhere else I can find...So I figured Id watch a movie that I love, but rarely watch due to it's crazy length. It was a tough choice between this and "It", but I figured it's been longer since I watched Godfather. As if I need to even say it...this movie is beyond amazing.

jenna26 06-26-2005 08:37 PM

The Jacket. It was decent, nothing spectacular but entertaining enough and the acting was solid. Some of it didn't make a lot of sense, but still, not bad.

I loved Secret Window, actually, not as a horror movie, but just as a (in my opinion) great acted, enjoyable film.

Anyway I watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High today.

I agree with you on the acting but like I said there's somethings that even a great actor and a hot girl can't fix and for me this was one of those things.

Marroe 06-27-2005 12:11 AM

Big Fish for about the 7th time

AUSTIN316426808 06-27-2005 12:14 AM

The Usual Suspects

Kevin Spacey must have alot of fun running that theatre in Europe because I don't see any other reason he doesn't get and or accept more work.

Elvis_Christ 06-27-2005 12:28 AM

^^ Great film. One of the many good gangster/crime films of the 90s. There was quite a lot of them during that time. Some were true;y terrible but that is definatley one of the better ones along with Goodfellas, Reservoir Dogs, Casino, Carilto's Way, ect. Reminds me I should rewatch Little Oddesa with Tim Roth and Ed Furlong but I've got a feeling my copy went missing a long time ago.

feral cat 06-27-2005 03:40 AM

The Quiet Familey ... from the dirctor of a tale of two sisters and the movie The Happiness of the Katakuris was based on

also saw Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, which was fun

... and The Layer Cake, which is a good, but not great Britsih gangster flick
