I feel asleep to midsummer's night dream and tonight I can't decide what to watch but Im not in front of my movies either.

Vodstok 06-22-2005 04:33 AM

I saw Home on the Range last night. Pretty godamn good for a disney flick, almost (but not quite) as good as the incredibles.

I think urge would like it, Joe Flaherty was the goat, and frigging hilarious.

we have it, but my son watched it once (when the babysitter was over - so i didnt see it) and hasnt asked to see it again ..

i'd check it out just to see the Flaherty character - but this is the 1st good thing i've heard about this one ..

the last 10 movies i've seen now are all of the fucking Land Before Time movies - there are 10 of the fuckers and they are all horrible beyond description.
and my kid absolutely loves them.

House of the Dead

Oh, what a movie this is. This is The Godfather of bad zombie movies, not that I expected any different. As a lover of bad movies, this was certainly an enjoyable flick...loved how in the scene on the boat, the used the same shot of a zombie getting killed like 50 times! Friggin hilarious. Oh, gotta love being able to see the things the stuntmen used to jump! And of course, the 15 minute shootout:rolleyes:

But the best [or Worst, I should say] part of the whole movie was this line :

Rudy- You Created it all so you could be immortal. Why?
Spanish Zombie guy whose name I forget- To live forever!

What the hell was that?

Anyway...if you're like me and enjoy a bad movie, get this right away. If not...avoid at all costs.

Vodstok 06-22-2005 05:14 AM

I have been curious about House of the Dead in the same way some people would like to find a dead body... Morbid curiosity that will probably haunt me for the rest of my life.

Amen. I feel the same way. But I think I might check it out now just 'cause of the line that Return said...the one about immortality. I have to see that.

Have you seen "An American Werewolf in London" yet? I've been wanting to check it out for a while now...just curious as to your thoughts.

Ah shit haha. That's what I saw. I meant to put "London" but I've been reading so much into the "London vs. Paris" thread that I accidentally put Paris.

I saw "London" and it was very, very good. Definately worth checking out.

Very cool, I'm gonna try and see it soon. Yeah, I noticed that you gave it 9/10...and I've actually heard alot of bad things about the "Paris" version...so I was rather surprised ;) lol. Glad to know it was for the original "London".

alkytrio666 06-22-2005 09:26 AM

Yah, haha, I haven't even seen "Paris". But in conclusion "London" is definately a great film.

Vodstok 06-22-2005 09:38 AM

I have seen both, and London is a great movie, Paris is stupid. Crappy CGI werewolves, irritating characters... And it completely lacks the original's bleak ending.

American Psycho. For the first time. Crazy film, I really don't know what to say about it. Disturbing, funny, sick, weird...I think I enjoyed it. I absolutely loved the scene where he kills that "Paul" character with an ax. (Where he puts on the raincoat, covers hsi floor with newspapers, etc.) I guess overall this movie just really intruiged me.

Anyone else have opinions on this movie?

Hilarious movie, Christian Bale sells it.

Best part, the ATM machine that reads "Feed Me Kittens".

BH14 06-22-2005 11:38 PM

Christian Bale did a very good job in American Psycho... You should checkout "The Machinist"... Its good. Just came out on DVD. Getting rave reviews by many people. Check it out especially if you like session 9, memento, jacob's ladder and those type of thrillers.

I just rented "Cursed" unrated version and I liked it... If you are expecting a lot of gore and a really serious scary movie, you will be disappointed. But if you go in and want to be entertained with humor, nice gore, nice story, christina ricci, some pop outs, good effects, etc, you will then enjoy this movie...... Its a fun horror movie.

I have it and consider it a decent film. Ohhh, there are definately things about it that irritate the shit out of me, the narriation, his voice etc... but some of the kills were rather cool.

Havnt watched any horror in awhile, but still saw some damn good movies.

Today, I went to a "gettogether" to celebrate the end of the schoolyear. We were outside most of the time [friggin beautiful day], but we camn in and watched Napolean Dynamite. Damn I love that movie, never gets les funny the more I see it:)

Later tonight, I just watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I loved it. Took me awhile to understand what the hell was going on...but once I got it, amazing movie. Really made me think about what Id do in his situation, meaning it was done damn well. Incredible movie, all around:)

Along Came Polly

It was an alright movie, had some real funny parts.

AUSTIN316426808 06-24-2005 04:08 AM

I also saw the Honeymooners last night because Land of the Dead was sold out.

Whenever a movie that I really want to see is coming out I buy tickets in advance just in case because most of the time they don't sell out right away. I've bought tickets ahead of time for Batman Begins,Star Wars,Gladiator,Chicago ect. even High Tension which is a great film but seriously it's not going to sell out only a week after Star Wars is released and the same weekend of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The point is I always do it and the one time I don't it blows up in my face.

Im going tomorrow night, but just in case Im going out today to get my tickets. Doubt it will be sold out here, but ya never know...

Anyway, Ive just watched The Satanic Rites of Dracula. Id never seen any of the Christopther Lee/Peter Cushing Dracula films, but this was great! Kinda slow in parts, but Lee and Cushing were great. Id like to see some of the other ones though, Satanism isnt really my bag.

urgeok 06-24-2005 05:27 AM

wow i'm suprised that LAnd of the Dead was sold out ... usually horror movies with a cult following dont do that well.

maybe this is the start of something huge for us horror fans.
