Wow... I don't hate Paul Walker anymore. It's like he never even made The Fast and the Furious or 2 Fast 2 Furious or Into the Blue...

I just saw a preview for this today & it looked pretty cool. Although, I highly doubt it "Makes Kill Bill look like Sesame Street" as it claims, it still looks cool. I bumped to the top of my queue so I should be able to check it out sometime in the next week or so...

looks like a bloom county ripoff :D

Wolf Creek

I'll start off by saying: if you want to enjoy this movie, don't go in expecting anything more than a normal slasher. This is because THAT IS ALL IT IS!!! I'm not so sure why so many people thought this sucked so bad. Then again, I'm not sure where all the hype came from in the first place. The acting is good, the Australian scenery is breath-taking, and the storyline at least a step above your straight to vid slash-a-thon. There's some decent splatter, too.

Yes, the meat of the action does take about 45 minutes to get to, but so what? Not every movie needs to open with a kill. I, for one, like to at least care a little about the characters before they get horribly murdered.

*MILD SPOILERS AHEAD*
There are definately a few scenes that had me rolling my eyes about some of the choices one of the girls made when trying to get away. The main one was a stretch to get a little bit of extra story in, so I can forgive it.

All in all, I think the film has a nice, gritty feel to it. It's not the next coming of TCM, but it's definately a notch above all of the shitty remakes we've been getting. 6.5/10
