Love this film, thought Joe Spinell gave a fantastic performance and really is a must see.

It the sort of film where unspeakable acts of depravity are carried out and yet still allows room for sympathising with the perpetrator. Always difficult to do but excellently done here.

Watched Kelly's Heroes for the umpteenth time, great film!

another animated film borrowing everything from all the others just like it. artistically and thematically..
(the hyper squirrel from hoodwinked, the possoms from ice age 2...)
shit they're all blending together now.
SPOILER ***************
they even ripped of Futerama witha 'too much caffein' sequence
a couple funny moments (Shatners character) but little else..

I'm sure they've done quite a bit of ripping but wasn't the hyper squirrel established in the Sunday comic before Hoodwinked even came along? Anyway, I just watched Cats and Dogs... I don't know why.

oh geeze - it might have been .. didnt have that for a frame of reference as i saw hoodwinked 1st.

didnt even know there was a comic strip.

still feel the same way about the pacing and the general frow of the film though ...

i wish i could articulate better how something work - fit - feel natural in some movies where in others they feel forced - ripped off - desperate.

to use shrek as an example .there were in jokes for the adults - but it enhanced the story - like an afterthought ..it wasnt what the movie RELIED on for humor (i.e madagascar)

there's a subtle difference ....

a kids movie should be paced like any other movie ..let it build to the highs ..dont try to maintain the high for 100% of the film ...

I agree, I think the fact that CGI has become so accessible is hurting animated film. Now it's so cheap it doesn't have to be a good movie to get the greenlight. As for Over the Hedge, it's a Sunday comic strip that's sometimes funny but I never really got into it.

Running Scared

Wow... I don't hate Paul Walker anymore. It's like he never even made The Fast and the Furious or 2 Fast 2 Furious or Into the Blue...

The Brothers Grimm

Although the special effects weren't too great it was a pretty entertaining movie. I give it a 3/5.
