ferretchucker 10-28-2007 10:59 AM

according to my clock is starts 5 minutes ago.

stygianwitch 10-28-2007 11:00 AM

Yep, you're in the right place, i think tic is all set to go :)

tic 10-28-2007 11:03 AM

Ok finally to get this thing on the road.

To the people who have helped and offered their support. Thank you I know when you saw the list a few jaws dropped and hearts sunk, (but somehow despite the curse of HDC, which I probably shouldn't mention coz no doubt I'll be struck with lightning) we are here.

Give yourself a clap people and drinks are on Horror or so he told me.

Without further adue, its also known as time-wasting we can now start the show - bring on the dancing girls yah.

That was quick!

OK for the first awards:

The HDC Oscars Award for Worst Director

Michael Deveraux
Paul W Anderson
Rick Garris
Rob Zombie
Rupert Wainright
Ullili Zommel
Uwe Boll

After a good deal of deliberation, that lasted, Oh nearly a millisecond and facing what was stiff opposition, the award goes to:

UWE BOLL

As a judge put it “Reason? He is the worst thing to happen to Horror”,

And that was being kind.

tic 10-28-2007 11:05 AM

The HDC Oscar for the Worst Producer

Darren Ramage
Michael Bay
Michael Deveraux
Rob Zombie
Sam Raimi
Uwe Boll

There are OK producers, there are bad producers, but there can only be one
really, really bad producer. The winner of this award, needs no introduction, as more than likely he would barge in anyway.

UWE BOLL

Do I have to give a reason? Wait and see and you’ll know why.

tic 10-28-2007 11:07 AM

The HDC Oscars for the worst Production Studio:
Boll Kg
Columbia
Fox Atomic
Paramount
Warner

This award, on the face of it was a pretty hard one to Judge; Paramount, Columbia and Warner – but yes that man again, this time using his own production company, why because even those already mentioned, have at least made an effort, in trying to produce some good movies. This person who uses his own company, perhaps because no-one else would even consider undertaking the films he creates.

The winner of the worst production studio can only go to Uwe Bolls own production studio,

BOLL KG

ferretchucker 10-28-2007 11:07 AM

Wow! I'm suprised! Uwe Boll is the best thing Horror has ever had! Did I say horror, I meant the people who are out to kill horror.

tic 10-28-2007 11:08 AM

The HDC Oscars for worst screen play

Campfire Tales
Death Proof
Halloween (07)
House of the Dead
$lasher$
The Beast from 20,000 fathoms
Zombie Nation

If I was to say Uwe Boll describes himself as not only a director, a producer but also a writer, would you know who won this one?

A bad screenplay does not make a good movie, Mr Boll. and when you’ve spent a lot of your experience on trying to not only destroy horror, but the games that are based on them. Shame on you

The award for the worst screen play is Uwe Boll’s travesty

House of the Dead

tic 10-28-2007 11:09 AM

The HDC Oscar for the Worst Horror Film Ever

BloodRayne
BoogeyMan
Captivity
Day of the Dead
Dead Alive aka BrainDead
House of the Dead
Mulva: Zombie Ass-Kicker
$lasher$
Slaughter High
The Horror Star
The Village
Troll
Zombie Nation

I think you already know this one, or do you?

Let me put you out of your misery : Mr Boll is at it again!

This time however, not content with messing up one game-based movie, but he has the the cheek, insolence, contemptness and above all disrespect to cause one of our own to change her name, because of what Boll done to this character.

But this is NOT the worst horror film, as pointed out earlier a badly written screen play does not bode well with a good movie.

The Worst ever horror film is

House of the Dead

ferretchucker 10-28-2007 11:09 AM

Wow. What a suprise. ;)

tic 10-28-2007 11:10 AM

So finally one unchallenged award, which is affectionately known as the Uwe Boll Award for crap film-making.

All the categories that he was nominated for he came almost, infact unanimously top of the pile. To other film makers, please take heed or you may be the second candidate.

The Person who had single handedly attempted to destroy the horror of which we so love, (that is why we are here after all) is

Bow your head in shame

UWE BOLL

ferretchucker 10-28-2007 11:13 AM

I really wish he would come to this forum one day. He would get so much bashing!

GorePhobia 10-28-2007 11:13 AM

Good job UWE!

stygianwitch 10-28-2007 11:15 AM

Way to go Uwe Boll :p

ok, now for some serious, and by that i mean decent horror movie awards

The HDC Oscars award for Best Actor

Nominations are:

Boris Karloff
Bruce Campbell
Christopher Lee
Donald Pleasance
Lon Chaney Snr.
Peter Lorre
Samuel L Jackson
Vincent Price

This award goes to a man who sacrificed everything for his art, his groundbreaking makeup and versatility brought horror to the masses, he was a master of his craft, his ability to transform himself using self invented makeup techniques earned him the nickname ‘The Man of a Thousand Faces’. His early death meant the loss of a great man in the movie industry

The winner is

Lon Chaney Snr

tic 10-28-2007 11:19 AM

Gore is trying to sell his car

Disease?

normal ha ha action will resume shortly

tic 10-28-2007 11:20 AM

its crumbling down before my eyes!

ferretchucker 10-28-2007 11:22 AM

4 more awards! 4 more awards! (And the rest!)

stygianwitch 10-28-2007 11:25 AM

The HDC Oscars award for Best Character

Nominations are:

Ash
Dracula - Bela Lugosi (31)
Ellen Ripley - Alien series
Jason Vorhees
Michael Myers
Waiter (Bruce Campbell in Spiderman 3)

This award goes to

Ash

The judges summed this character up much better than I can so here are their comments

“…greatest costume, greatest one-liners, greatest attitude, he goes from a total wuss into unstoppable bad-ass in no time flat. just an all around great character...”

“…strong screen-presence, some really great sequences, and some of the best one-liners and one-word dialogues ever seen in a horror movie… Groovy…”

“…He's a much more complex character than the others. Ash is witty, unwilling, and sarcastic until the end but he always ends up trying to save the day... or at least the girl... along with his own ass…”

stygianwitch 10-28-2007 11:27 AM

The HDC Oscars award for Worst Character

Nominations are:

Ash
BloodRayne
Freddie Harris - Halloween Ressurection
Jackie Peters - Jaws 2
JigSaw
Kiera Knightley - Pirates " 3
Laurie Strode - Halloween Remake
Marcie - Pumpkinhead
Tippi Hendren - The Birds
Trevor Moorhouse
Tyranny

This character, in the original film, was one of the strongest characters in the movie, however the ‘remade’ character in the recent version of the film was a great let-down

In the 2007 remake of the film this character lacked any real substance and had no personality

The award for Worst Character goes to

Laurie Strode – Halloween Remake

Disease 10-28-2007 11:27 AM

Ok, then...

The HDC Oscars award for Best Book

Nominations are:

American Psycho
Collective/complete works of Egar Allen Poe
Dracula
Frankenstein
The Devil Rides Out
The Shinning
The Stand
The Wyrm

A cautionary tale about men playing God, this book stands out as one of the best in the horror genre, it has stood the test of time and continues to be popular today, both in book and movie format

The emotions engendered by this book are relevant whatever the era, life changes, emotions don’t, “…The feeling of pity when the creature feels unwanted and an outcast, it not only regards the doctor as not only his creator, but his father…” is something that still hold true today

The winner of the Best Book category is

Frankenstein

stygianwitch 10-28-2007 11:34 AM

The HDC Oscars award for Worst Book

Nominations are:

Dolores Claiborne
Hannibal Rising
Havoc Junction
High School Musical
The Haunted Stagecoach
The Woman in black

The award for Worst Book goes to

Hannibal Rising

Here are some of the judges comments:

“…Hannibal Rising is the one of maybe two or three books I couldn't even finish. Such a disappointment when compared to Harris's earlier books, no I take that back, Hannibal was a disappointment, Hannibal Rising was outright awful…”

“…Hannibal Rising did make all the others look semi bad…”

“…Absolutely the worst out of all the mentioned. Even worse than the one I nominated…”

tic 10-28-2007 11:39 AM

wont be long I promise

tic 10-28-2007 11:40 AM

The Award for the film that should be remade is

20 Million miles to Earth
Alligator
Jaws
Kronos
London After Midnight
Resident Evil
Silent Night, Bloody Night
$lasher$
The Beast from 20,000 fathoms
The Wolf Man

Again another toughie, each film well most of them, still hold strongly today as they did when they first came out

However, one finally was chosen as both the director and actors who are to be in this film, perhaps because of the work they have already done, will be remade

The award for the movie that SHOULD be remade is

The Wolf Man

stygianwitch 10-28-2007 11:41 AM

The HDC Oscars award for Best SFX

Nominations are:

A Nightmare on Elm Street
Alien
An American Werewolf In London
Dawn of the Dead
Day of the Dead
Eraserhead
Suspiria
The Blob
The Thing (rem)
Tim Roth/Tom Woodruff
Transformers

The groundbreaking effects in this movie are what made it stand the test of time and shocked audiences across the world

Here’s what Wiki has to say

‘The various prosthetics and fake, robotic body parts used during the film's painful, extended werewolf transformation scenes and on Griffin Dunne when his character returns as a bloody, mangled ghost impressed the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences so much that they decided to create a new awards category at the Oscars specifically for the film – Outstanding Achievements in Makeup’

The transformation scene was excellently done, the pain endured by the character comes across well and, in the opinion of the judges, has yet to be bettered,

The winner is:

An American Werewolf In London

It is still a favourite movie for many even today, and a ‘must have’ in any horror fan’s collection

A well deserved award

tic 10-28-2007 11:42 AM

have a coffee, go to the loo or something

stygianwitch 10-28-2007 11:43 AM

The HDC Oscars award for Worst SFX

Nominations are:

Alone in the Dark
Attack of the Gryphon
Cursed
Dead Alive
Lake House
Let Sleeping Corpses Lie
Necropolis (87)
Pieces
Plan 9 from outer space
The Beyond

The winner of this category is

Plan 9 from Outer Space

For it’s “…effects that were so shoddy it would put an indie or free-lancing movie maker to shame…”

tic 10-28-2007 11:48 AM

The film which should never be remade

A Nightmare on Elm Street
Evil Dead
Friday the 13th
Jaws
Labyrinth
Night of the living Dead
The Exorcist
The Thing (82)

Again a close run thing and each has its own merits, however from the two. Two main contenders appeared:

Evil Dead and Jaws

Who can forget Ash or the deadites, would a remake encompass them all, from the grapevine Evil dead, may well be re-made.

However, can anyone make Jaws as good as it still is. It is remember one of the biggest money spinners for the producers and allowed Stephen Speilberg go on to other things.

The Award for the film which should never be remade is

JAWS

tic 10-28-2007 11:53 AM

I and others have been here for fucking ages, can I help it if people change things at the last moment.

ferretchucker 10-28-2007 12:06 PM

I'm currently writing my little speech for each category.

tic 10-28-2007 12:11 PM

Best Poster
Alien
Army of Darkness
Grindhouse
Halloween (07)
Hot Fuzz
Jaws
The hills have Eyes
The Black Cat
The Thing

The poster, usually the first thing that the film goer will see. It advertises the film after all. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, but it’s the poster that tells us what were going to get.

The winner for the best poster is

JAWS

This was nominated simply because it did just that – advertises to us not only the menace, but the size of the shark in question.

ferretchucker 10-28-2007 12:13 PM

we're gonna need a bigger boat.

ferretchucker 10-28-2007 12:19 PM

It seems the schedule has been thrown out the window so here it goes.

Worst soundtrack.

Here are the Nominees.

Amityville Horror
Effects
Fear
Slaughter High
The Wicker Man

Now, when I saw this list, there was one name that stuck out in my mind. There are certain words to describe the soundtrack to this. One used by Fortunato was "Hilarious". Well. I suppose that makes it one word. :D Anyway, without further Ado...

The winner of Worst Soundtrack is:

SLAUGHTER HIGH!

ferretchucker 10-28-2007 12:20 PM

Best Soundtrack

Here are the nominees, chosen by you.

Devils Rejects
From dusk till dawn
Halloween (7
Halloween (07)
Hot Fuzz
Jaws
Suspiria

For me, this was a toughy. Theres DUUUUNNUUUN. DUUUUNUUUN. Dununununun etc. or Ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti TI ti. Both are instantly recognisable, both a legendary and both are really difficult to write on a computer.

I was looking at the comments you lot left and it seems like you all had a tough time deciding, but in the end, one walked it's way into victory. You must have guessed it,

JOHN CARPENTER'S HALLOWEEN!
