You okay, Z man?

the votes for whatever the most recent showdown is are counted. you are voting on contests that have been over and done with for days or even weeks. After one of the two gets 5 votes, it wins and the voting for that is over.

Please feel free to join in on any of these, but leave the old stuff back, please.

taylorsmommy 02-21-2005 11:52 AM

Back to the fries:

taylorsmommy 02-22-2005 05:36 AM

Cheese sticks!

ChEEbA 02-22-2005 06:03 AM

God, is there anything you guys DON'T deep fry over there???

I'll go with the onion though...I've had a baked spanish onion once, and that was awesome...I imagine this thing would be KINDA similar?

Vodstok 02-22-2005 06:25 AM

Kinda, sorta not really. They are good though. imagine kind of a crispy onion ring, only really spicy and flavorful.

And no, there is nothing we wont fry. We have fried oreos. I think that tops everything.

If we could manage it, im sure there would be a carnival stand somewhere with fried cotton candy.

3-2 in favor of cheese.

ShankS 02-22-2005 06:51 AM

1 scoop vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup frosted flakes
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
vegetable oil for frying

Heat the Vegetable Oil in a large pot. While the oil is heating, take the Frosted Flakes and put them into a Ziploc bag. Smash them until they are pea-size pieces. Pour the Frosted Flakes into a large bowl. Take the scoop of Ice Cream and drop it into the bowl. Roll the Ice Cream around in the cereal until it is well coated. Take the cereal covered Ice Cream ball and drop it into the hot oil for 30-45 sec. Take the Ice Cream out of the Oil and dust with Cinnamon and Powdered Sugar. Serve immediately.

you ever tried to cook it? I think the ice cream would disintigrate in hot oil for that long.

that sounds like it might taste pretty good.

I asked Jeeves

Fried ice cream is sometimes associated with soul food, but is even more associated with fairs, carnivals and other places where food is served with little regard to negative health concerns due to the products consumed being considered as a snack or a treat rather than serious sources of nourishment. It is prepared by taken deep-frozen ice cream (ice cream which has been frozen well below the standard 0 degrees F at which ice cream is generally kept) and rolling it in a breading which is usually cookie crumbs. This breaded ice cream is then briefly fried. The low temperature to which the ice cream has been frozen prevents the ice cream from melting during the brief frying process. When served the product is generally still frozen in the middle but sizziling on the outside.
