Haha oh okay. I thought it was awesome. I think it's done too much but it was done well in that movie.

"Paranormal Activity 2" (2010)

Plot: IMDB
Daniel Rey along with his wife, Kristi; daughter, Ali; toddler son, Hunter, and their dog, move to Carlsbad, California. A few days later their residence is broken into, however, nothing appears to be missing. In order to prevent re-occurrences, they install a number of security cameras that will record everything on a DVR. After they hire a Spanish-speaking nanny to look after Hunter, she informs them that there is something wrong in their house and performs prayers, much to the chagrin of Daniel, who lets her go. He will subsequently regret this decision as more inexplicable and strange incidents occur, with Ali concluding, after a research, that their house may be possessed by a demonic entity.

Phantom's Review: Essentially, this film works as both a prequel AND a sequel to the original film. (those who have seen it understand, those who haven't, well, go see it) While not quite as good as the original, this film still is an effective thriller. The acting seems realistic, and the minimal FX are well done. Perfect to watch at home, late at night with the lights off. I love haunted house stories and this is a good one.

I thought PA2 was boring. How many times do we have to see shots of the living room, kitchen and pool with nothing happening? It became so repetitive and took away from the suspense. It seemed like the makers didn't know how to fill in time.

"The Thirsty Dead"

http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV...0,214,317_.jpg

2.5 out of 5

I thought it was ok, not bad, but nothing to go out of your way for.

Drive In Horrorshow is a low budget horror anthology with 5 tales of horror. The effort was fine in compare to its budget but the acting was horrible in most parts. The Fall Apart & the Meat man are only 2 decent stories out of 5.

Liked Kidnapped as I've kinda fondness about unexpectedly shocking or depressing ending in Horror movies. :D

"The Adventures Of Brisco County Jr" (1993)
-Bruce Campbell

Plot:
When U.S. Marshal Brisco County, Sr. is murdered by John Bly and his gang of outlaws, the robber barons of San Francisco's Westerfield Club hire Brisco County, Jr. as a bounty hunter to round them up. Brisco meets a lot of interesting people along the way, including rival bounty hunter Lord Bowler, and the Westerfield Club's stuffy lawyer, Socrates Poole. He also learns of a mysterious object which John Bly would do anything to possess, for the supernatural power it can give him.

Phantom's Review" Pilot film for the short lived, but absolutely brilliant, Sci-Fi Western. Despite only lasting one season, this is one of my favorite shows. The pilot (like the whole series) is filled with action, humor and a great sense of fun. Not your traditional western, but then. it wasn't supposed to be.

I saw 'TCM: The Beginning' for the 2nd time, but it's still silly and boring imo.

Gonna see the danish horrormovie, The Resurrection [Opstandelsen] tonight, since I'm from Denmark this gonna be dope!

Kokujo 07-26-2011 01:13 AM

My last movie was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix which I finished close to two hours ago.

The only thing I liked about it was Thomas and the way they made him look badass and the atmosphere was really great!

Love that movie!

Bizarre 07-26-2011 08:24 AM

Ichi the Killer

I think this was a good film. The violence was gruesome for sure but it actually had a narrative and themes as well so certainly wasn't just the shock film I was expecting having known very little about it.

It was a very strange and the motivation of the man controlling Ichi weren't really very good.

Overall, 7/10

100 Tears

High body count, great exaggerated gore scenes, and had it's funny moments. Acting was horrendous, but it was still an entertaining flick.

Good movie but i didnt feel the connection between father and son like i should have. Plus the events just didnt seen dramatic enough. I didnt really care too much for the characters either.

"Captain America: The First Avenger"(2011)
-Chris Evans

During World War II ,Frail, skinny Steve Rogers is chosen to become the first of a new breed of super soldier, when the scientist who made the super soldier formula is killed, Rogers instead becomes a costumed hero fighting the Nazis

Phantom's Review: I've been a comic fan and collector for about 45 years now, and while I have read some "Captain America" books during that time, I have never been a real fan, (my personal favorite comics have always been "Batman", "Grimjack" and "Jonah Hex") But I went and saw this movie anyway, mostly because I think the director is good. Well I;m glad I went. This movie is a blast. Not only are the action and special FX top notch, but the story is very well written.and all the actors do an impressive job. This is high quality entertainment.

ABjerg 07-27-2011 02:34 AM

The Figher - Movie is kinda boring, but there's some superb actin' in it though.

Opstandelsen (The Resurrection) - Because it's danish it was a pretty fun horror/gore movie, but there wasn't really any concept or anythin'.
It was cool though.

Gonna 'maybe' see Julia's Eyes today.

Bizarre 07-27-2011 07:48 AM

REC

Awesome film.

The filming style has been overplayed a bit now with the likes of Cloverfield but I think it is far better than any other film I've seen in this style. It is short, straight to the point and the lack of emotion regarding "I've been bitten, do I tell anyone?" that is so common in zombie films is gladly missing. I was really on the edge of my seat waiting for things to happen, it is a seriously suspenseful film.

Highly recommended, though I'm sure most have seen it already.

I watched Julia's Eyes yesterday.

An okay movie, I liked the concept and the twists towards the ending, but it was a lil too boring overall.
Last 40-30mins or so is great though! And the story through the film is also nice, but things is happening too slow.
