Really tough choice, but like Nostromo, I am going with Hill House.

Like I said before, a huge part of The Haunting's legacy is built around it's setting. People don't remember the characters today, but mention The Haunting to them, and the immediate image they come up with in their minds is of Hill House. Dark, brooding, menacing, scary, filled with unknown terrors, a place as scary as Nostromo itself.

And above all, the film's central character.

On the other hand, the Frankenstein films are remembered more for their fantastic characters, and only passionate vintage horror fans remember the setting and set pieces of the films in the franchise. No doubt magnificent, but not as overwhelming as Hill House.

The Haunting - A timeless, ageless classic, set in a timeless, ageless setting.

Hill House, no question. No doubts.
