i believe i read somewhere (correct me if i'm wrong) that the ewoks or whatever fuck they are were origionally supposed to be a lot yougher - meaner looking - instead of those buck tooth muppets ..

and the name - as everyone knows - was origionally supposed to be revenge - not return.

lucas knew/knows where his money is coming from.

no correction needed, it was supposed to be dark just like Revenge of the Sith but Lucas did what he had to do to cash in.

Lured .. (Kino Video)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0039589/

great old film noir with Lucille Ball, George Sanders, and Boris Karloff.

a lot of fun - seems ahead of its time with the plot twist at the end that we see all the time now in thrillers.

Lucille added humor - a rare element in films like these - and she was gorgeous as well.

Boris Karloff played a complete kook in a short but funny performance ..

George Sanders was fantastic as always ..

if you dont know the name .. think of Shere Khan from Disneys 'the jungle book'

The_Return 06-12-2005 09:48 AM

I watched The Machinist last night. Incredible movie! Messed with my head though...I guess thats why I loved it so much. Bale was awesome, albiet rather disgusting in the state he was in. The twits were mostly pretty unpredicable although the final result of the hangman note was pretty obvious to me. Or was it supposed to be...?

Overall, I give it a 8/10.

forgot to mention we took the wee guy to Sharkboy and Lava Girl yesterday ..

Vod will hate it - it was frantically paced and uneven - but some of the visuals were pretty fun - and it's always cool to see stuff in 3D - if nothing else - just to hear the kids yelling when stuff is flying at them ..

newb 06-12-2005 06:28 PM

Not a big Will Smith fan but I watched "Hitch" last night and it was pretty funny. Thanks mostly to Kevin James.

Vod is a lot like my brother.....once he doesn't like someone for whatever reason, he hates anything to do with anything they are involved in.Case in point....my brother will not watch any movie with these actors...George C. Scott....Gary Busey...can't think of the rest...there's at lest two other actors he won't watch.

High Tension- 7/10, decent acting all around, the twist that's used is starting to get old but I couldn't figured it out until 2/3 of the way through I did sort of get the idea early on but dismissed it because at the time it didn't make sense but it slowly started to. All in all it was a very fucked up but very entertaining love story(at least that's what I take it has).

p.s.
I've got to get that song they played when the credits started to roll.

what if it's just a quick cameo.

Like it's the best movie ever and everybody is telling him to go see it but Gary Busey is in it for 10 seconds.

yep ..

and They Might Be Giants

hey was in a few horror movies ..

Firestarter
The Changeling ..

and a lot of other quality films

urgeok 06-13-2005 02:12 AM

No Way to Treat a Lady
George Segal, Rod Steiger, Lee Remick

a serial strangler is killing middle aged women .. a master of disguises .. and he taunts the police ..

Steiger who is a hopless over emoter gets away with it in this one - it suits the plot ..

fun movie with Segal as a jewish cop who still lives with his overbearing mom ..

Lee Remick is gorgeous ..

Elvis_Christ 06-13-2005 04:03 AM

i've given up on current films for a while -
thay lack character and origionality - with very few exceptions ..
time to go back and watch some decent movies from the 70's and beyond ..

I just saw The Exorcist for the fist time, and I must say i was extremely disapointed. that was not scary at all. However I am willing to admit that the film was beautifully directed. But I dont see how anyonme could think that it was scary. A few parts manage to tweak me out a bit, but not scare or startle me. Its good for a laagh, but thats about it.

some of the lines had me laughing pretty good.

"Your mother sucks cock you mother fucker."

"shove it up your ass you cunt"

"fuck you you worthless cocksucker"
