It was fucking cool that they were so cheap. cos happy gilmore and FD 3 were more expensive on there own.

I have noticed that alot of dvds are coming out earlier and becoming extremely cheap also which rocks. Neep to spruce up the dvd collection anyway.

not great - these things are almost 100 years old ..
pretty choppy in parts(i just watched the 1st one and a bit of the second so far)

the second seemed better so hopefully the quality improves as they progress.

still worth the purchase ..

the word play is pretty funny (the printed dialogue they show instead of talking)

Just recently. I've been meaning to get my hands on a copy myself.

It's only about 15 bucks most places; visit DeepDiscount.

The Other

you found it ! - where ?

........................

The Flayed One 11-17-2006 04:13 PM

The Other - After looking for the damned thing for over four years, apparently it just got re-released. i got it from DDDvD for part of my supersale bargain.

Eating Raoul - I've been stalking this for a couple of years, and always had something else that I put it back for. I've never seen it, but I've heard it's wonderful.

As far as the rest of them go, I was either going classics or gorefests. As you can see, gorefests pretty much won the ol' tug of war this round.

crabapple 11-17-2006 05:46 PM

Ah! I have very fond memories of "Eating Raoul." Saw that at a special screening before its theatrical release, and it was so funny. Fun, fun movie.

Odd thing however...I rented a "widescreen" dvd a while back, and as far as I could tell, it was the 1.33:1 TV ratio version--but anamorphically distorted into about a 1.85:1 letterbox image. So the entire movie looked stretched like Silly Putty to the sides! On the plus side, it was in stereo, and I had only heard it in mono before.

crabapple 11-20-2006 02:49 PM

Halloween 2! Good choice. I like that more and more. Didn't like it seeing it in the theatres when it came out, but my expectations were too high--after I accepted what it was, it improved for me.

i think that by the time i get back home ...... i'll have it :)

i loved the big guy - so big you never saw him above the waist.

"hey (xxxxxxx) you have something on the side of your mouth"

the guy puts his hand up to brush the 'fleck' off his face and a huge chunk of banana falls down on the desk. :D

there was more gold in each one of those shows than in most 90 minute comedy films.
