Blair Witch (2016)
4/10
I like the first one and I like found footage but this was bad in many ways.

According to Imdb, the budget for this one was about 5 million while the first one has an estimate of 60 thousand.
As Above So Below, another found footage, also had a budget of about 5 million.
That movie was made in Paris, has a bigger cast and looks more expensive with its props, sceneries, effects,...
So where did all that Blair Witch budget go? Trees and dirt?

Girl Asleep (2015)
I.M.D.B.
The world is closing in on Greta Driscoll. On the cusp of turning fifteen she can't bear to leave her childhood, it contains all the things that give her comfort in this incomprehensible new world.

Odd little movie, that starts out very Wes Anderson before delving further into symbolism and metaphors. It's a sweet little movie in places, but I was happy for the short run-time. Only Wes Anderson can do a Wes Anderson movie.
6.5/10

Watched The Mothman Prophecies. It's on my Christmas movie list, which guarantees that I toss it in the DVD player once a year. True, the Holiday is not a major part of the films theme but...this movie is a creepfest and the bit of Christmas-ness gives me an excuse to watch it every winter!

If you were pleasantly surprised with Andre ovredal's TROLLHUNTER (2010), then you will regard him now as your new 'Master of Horror' - in his latest & first English-language film The Autopsy of Jane Doe! Because, in Jane Doe, this Norwegian director applied almost each & every great craftsmanship of horror film-making so skillfully that you are not only going to see just another good or passable horror flick set around an awesomely interesting premise, you'll going to experience it! Through the effective use of half light, sound & shadow this time he created an utterly eerie & unsettling atmosphere by revealing not too much but keep toying with the viewer's imagination from start to finish. And the perfect cast & characterization also helps to fuel the unease feeling of an unknown terror – an untouched & unidentified corpse of a beautiful young female; the local cops discovered the body from a shallow grave under the basement of a house-where everyone was massacred!

The best horror film of 2016 so far! A must watch.

>>: A

I give it an A-
Solid and original horror movie.
Probably some mistake but on Imdb the length's 99 minutes.
Version I saw was 86.

I'm already looking forward to the director's next movie: Mortal.
About a guy who gets godlike powers. Lead will be played by an actor from Misfits.
I do hope it's R-Rated otherwise it might be another young adult fantasy adventure.

Can we call the nineties contemporary? Rewatched this today for the first time in ages. Great movie with some nice dark humour.

Silent Night (2012)
B
Second viewing. Still a decent Christmas slasher with some decent blood and gore, good effects and better than average acting considering the genre.

Thumb resize.
