Just read Kane Vol. 4: The Thirty-Ninth. Another great installment of Paul Grist’s police procedural, possibly the only straight police story in comics.

Also read The Exterminators Vol.1 : Bug Brothers. A comic about exterminators, genetically mutated cockroaches, and a global conspiracy. A lot better than I’d expected it to be.

I'm diving into something new tonight. Could the Master and Margarita, The Talented Mr. Ripley, or some Michael Houellebecq. We'll see.

Well, I liked The Other Boleyn Girl enough, though it seems to have somewhat less to do with reality than Gregory may pretend...;) The timeline is definitely off on some things, from what I can gather. Either way, an entertaining read so I am reading The Boleyn Inheritance now.

The characters are very well drawn out, considering the length of the work, and the ending is inevitable and tragic, but apparently it is easy to feel a kind of disconnect with the events leading up to it (from what I have heard other people say, I do not feel this way, I find it very moving, very sad, and I actually like Steinbeck's straightforward style).

East of Eden is FAR more entertaining actually, there is so much going on in that novel, and the characters are so very complex. I also think Steinbeck created just about the perfect example of a sociopath iin this novel. Steinbeck definitely did approach his characters in a different way here.

Makes sense.
It's not that I felt a kind of disconnect.
It just wasn't that good in my opinion.

I'm actually looking forward to reading East of Eden, but I have to order it.
I can't find it anywhere.

Ironweed, by William Kennedy - About homeless alcoholics in 1930s Albany, NY. About as enjoyable as it sounds.
