dr lucien sanchez:
have you ever been to scotland dag?
dr rick dagless md:
once
sanch:
what was it like?
dag:
i remember it much as one recalls a dream, or a nightmare. i was on a budget flight to Norway when a storm hit and forced us to ditch in Glasgow Prestwick. i was stranded, it's so hilly up there you can't get any signal on your carphone. it looked bad, it looked like i was going to have to spend the night in glasgow.
sanch:
jesus christ!
dag:
the cabin crew suggested we all go out and club it. i had no option, it was that or one of their b&b's. i figured it'd be safer on the streets. for the first time ever, i saw the scotch in their natural habitat - and it weren't pretty. i'd seen them hudling in stations before being loud, but this time i was surrounded. everywhere i went it felt like they were watching me. fish-white flesh puckered by the highland breeze. tight eyes peering out for fresh meat. screechy booze-soaked voices hollering out for a taxi to take them half way up the road to the next all night watering hole. a shatter of glass, a round of applause. a 16 year old mother of three vomiting in an open sewer, bairns looking on chewing on potato cakes. i ain't never going back, not never.
sanch:
my aunt lives in scotland, she says it's quite nice.
dag:
well she's wrong.

:p

All from Wal-Mart for $5.50 apiece:

The Hitcher
The Craft
Soul Survivors (the Eliza Dushku one)
Willard (2003)
Red Dragon
Stephen King's It

I'm heading out to the other two Wal-Mart's in my area to see if I can find the Horror Movie $5.50 racks at the front of the stores that everyone has been talking about. I picked these out of the normal $5.50 rack.

I also received The Exorcist-The Complete Anthology (Exorcist, Exorcist II, Exorcist III, both prequels, and the Version You've Never Seen) in the mail from Amazon.com.

I've ordered $1629.68 since 3/13/06 and haven't had a problem. Sometimes shipping takes longer than I'd hope but only when I use the free shipping and I'm not in a rush when I use that.

He was referring to the scene from Marathon Man. :) But you're right...DeepDiscount is the best.

Oh God can't believe I missed it lol.
Haven't seen that one in YEAAARS, saw it on sale at Wal-Mart for $5.50 today and almost bought it. Guess I should go back and get it, at least to refresh the memory.

Haha, not to worry pal, we all make mistakes. But definately pick it up! Great flick, especially for $5. Worth your time to re-watch it.

ItsAlive75 10-18-2006 09:51 PM

Feast and The Omen remake.

...I liked Feast at least.

X¤MurderDoll¤X 10-18-2006 10:05 PM

I thought the omen remake was bad ass, great death scenes. I liked the hanging during damien's birthday the best probably, it wasn't gory but hey I'm a sucker for hangings. ;)

Geddy 10-19-2006 02:04 AM

I got a Vincent Price Set last week. It's pretty awesome.

you're probaby the 1st person to say that in ... ohh ... 50 years or so ;)

alkytrio666 10-19-2006 03:41 AM

I'm not huge on hangings right now.

My neighbor (a father) just commited suicide by means of hanging. It's a fucking horribly tragic and scary situation that the poor family's in.

Life's so scary sometimes.

on eof the most selfish unthinking acts a person can commit.
i know you're obviously not in a right state of mind/thinking clearly ..

but i know of other people who have walked in on similar situations (kids/spouses) and it fucks them up for life.

if things are so bad that you have to do away with yourself ... find a way that wont potentionally emotionally scar your family for life..by finding your body.

its an image that no therapy can erase

Phalanx 10-19-2006 05:54 AM

Yup...suicide, the attempt thereof, or jokes about...all really distasteful to me, I've had a personal experience at a younger age with an attempt, it was embarrassing, scary, and generally a fucked up asshole of an act.
I personally don't see how or why a person would do it...unless maybe you knew you were dying and your family and close friends had all just been blown up...but, pretty small odds on that. It's an entirely selfish act that more often than not leaves others to wonder what THEY did wrong.
Yuck.

My recent aquisition was a game "American McGees Scrapworld"...seems rather interesting, storyline kind of like what robots WOULD have been if it had a plot worth shit. Again, McGee has created another unique universe...stunning to look at, decent plot so far, AWESOME music, and some really funny moments...good game so far.

The_Return 10-19-2006 03:32 PM

Went shoppin':D

Didnt get what I was originally after (MOH: Pick Me Up) but I still came back with a pretty good haul:

Wal-Mart:

- The Changeling (Finally! Cant wait to see it!!)
- Hollow Man

Overall I was a little disappointed with the bargain bin...I'd heared they had an awesome horror sale, but these were the only 2 in the bin that sounded good/I didnt already have.

FutureShop:

- The Relic
- Big Trouble in Little China

Zellers:

- Nightmare on Elm Street (Old DVD, not the new SE)
- Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge

I've been planning to buy the boxset for a long time now, but after doing some math I realized that it's actually cheaper to buy them seperately. Sure, I miss out on a dics of special features...but I'd likely never watch it anyway. I'll probably have the rest of the series within a couple weeks:)

I think it was a good shopping trip:cool:
