I'm all up to date, and I really liked this season. A lot of really major developments took place. I didn't find the finale' weak at all. There were only 3 flashbacks, and they were used to illustrate how past decisions are still affecting people as time marches on.

Rick really freaked me out in the finale'. I think he's borderline insane, to be honest. I thought so when he was having hallucinations around the time Lori died. You see that look he gets his eyes when things are about to go bad? The pure savagery with which he killed those two guys... my god! I'm not saying he shouldn't have done it, I'm just saying I think he's slipped over the edge a bit.

I'm not sure about the whole Terminus/cannibalism debate. There may be a bit of that in the works, but after watching the season 5 trailer, it's clear the Terminus leader wants everyone to head to D.C.

I don't think for a minute Beth is dead. They're just biding time to make her reunion have more impact.

Rick is a wildman. He may bide his time till the moment is right, and then strike- but he always wins in the end. He'll protect his unit to the very end, with few casualties.

Great analysis. Totally agree, the season was great, finale was great, Rick is nutballs and a stud. Interesting thought on Terminus. I assumed for sure they were cannibals because of all those bones on the ground, but I also considered they could be animal bones. I haven't seen the season 5 trailer. My wife and I have made a point never to watch the trailers anymore, even the previews at the end of an episode. They just give too much away, like who's still alive and stuff.

I like walking dead, but in the last season, I just found myself getting a bit bored with it, livened up near the end.

tfantasy 10-10-2014 12:18 AM

I LOVE TWD!!!!!!!! I just watched the latest season posted on Netflix instant so I am behind. Don't have cable tv......

Monkey Astronaut 10-12-2014 06:05 PM

"No Sanctuary" is an excellent start to season five and the gore throughout is superb.

SPOILERS

The second scene where the Terminus people were about to butcher Rick, Daryl, Glen and Bob was tense. Carol to the rescue is awesome and it was nice to see her disguise herself as a zombie. I don't think we've seen that since season one. Speaking of her character has grown a lot since then. The zombie on fire eating someone is one of the coolest visuals this show has done. Rick was a beast when he grabbed that guy's machine gun. Tyreese should have killed that guy first thing but seeing him tackle dude was great. Eugene is such a bullshitter. The reunion scenes at the end were genuinely touching. I'm honestly surprised they burned through the Terminus situation so quickly but I loved the pacing and I hope the rest of the season follows suit. It was fantastic to see Morgan return in the post credits scene.

I thought it was an excellent season opener! It had me on the edge of my seat the entire hour. Looking forward to this season. I think it's going to be the best one yet.

Apparently, I missed the bonus scene. Can you PM me and tell me about it?

Rawhead Rex 10-13-2014 07:44 AM

BEST SEASON OPENER THEY'VE EVER HAD!!!

SPOILERS!!!

So awesome...from stabby/shooty Rick, to bad ass/Rambette Carol throwing a giant sized monkey wrench into Terminus!!!
And cool at Tyreese beating dude to death...NICE!
MORGAN!!!
Everyone is reunited except for Beth...and she's with some cop lady that likes to argue and hit folk.
Can't wait or next week!!!

DaisyChain 10-13-2014 07:51 AM

I love Walking Dead! One of my favorite shows.

The Hunted 10-15-2014 02:44 AM

The latest episode for the newest season just regained my interests, great episode, fantastic start!

Anthropophagus 10-17-2014 07:51 AM

Agreed,a cracking start to the new series. But what did expect as it was directed by the awesome talent that is Greg Nicotero.

neverending 10-18-2014 09:51 PM

Not much I can say that hasn't already been said. This was a perfect season opener- I just wonder how they're going to keep up this level of drama and action.

Also, I'm really glad to see Rick back in control. Andrew Lincoln is doing an amazing job.

Monkey Astronaut 10-19-2014 06:03 PM

Episode 2 "Strangers" I was excited when I first heard that Seth Gilliam from The Wire was cast as Gabriel so I've been looking forward to this episode.

SPOILERS

It was much slower than the season premiere but I think that's to be expected. It did have a couple of tense scenes and put Carol and Daryl on the trail to find Beth. The zombies in the flooded basement scene looked great. Just when Bob starts to become likable he gets captured by cannibals.

abcodi 10-20-2014 09:56 PM

i stopped watching this series, last i watched was season 3 i think, i have a lot of catching up to do.

Yeah...real tough break for Bob...
And especially COLD at Gareth eating his cooked flesh right to his face and actually having the nerve to call him tasty.
That's just brutal.
But, I wonder...was Bob bitten when he was dragged underwater?
Why was he outside crying and why did he want "one more kiss" from Sasha.
He had a gun in his back belt...was he going to shoot himself after/during that cry he was having?
WHO KNOWS???
We'll find out!

Monkey Astronaut 10-26-2014 05:01 PM

SPOILERS

Episode 3 "Four Walls and a Roof" Loved the 'tainted meat' moment to open the episode. I like seeing Rick and Abraham butt heads. The scene where they slaughter the hunters was brutal although they deserved it. Michonne gets her sword back! RIP Bob Stookey. I liked seeing Tyreese step up for Sasha at the end. While I don't like seeing the group separated again the stories are generally better when they're not in a big group. Looking forward to finally seeing what happened to Beth next week.

Rawhead Rex 10-27-2014 07:54 AM

If they kill Carol, I'll frickin hate it!!!
I read somewhere that Beth was kidnapped because she's young, healthy...stressing on the word, young...as in, can get pregnant over and over again. Crazy people wanting to repopulate the world by force, if necessary.
That's why she wakes up in a hospital...babies get born in hospitals...even ones without power, it would seem.
If the theories are correct!
We'll see!
GREAT hacking, stabbing, and bludgeoning performance by Rick, Michonne, Abraham, and Sasha!!!
GREAT look of horror by Glenn, Maggie, and Tyrese!!!

Angra 10-27-2014 08:13 PM

First question: How was that cannibal guy from episode 1 still alive? I thought he got beaten to death by Big Black Guy in the cabin?

Second question: Who the hell is Beth?

At the end of last season. She was with Darryl, and someone snatched her. The last thing he saw was a black car with a white cross painted on the back driving away with her. The same car he and Carol saw and took off after.

You don't remember all the scenes last season with her and Darryl?

Well, NOW I remember. Thank you.

Obviously not a very interesting character (Even less interesting than her sister). There was almost a love story going on between Darryl and her before she got kidnapped... Thank god she god kidnapped. :danger:

LOL!!! Yeah, I did NOT want a romance between her and Darryl. He belongs to Carol, dammit! ::big grin::

Episode 4 "Slabtown" was slow paced but it picks up toward the end of the episode.

SPOILER

It introduced us to a new and interesting group and finally revealed what happened to Beth. Nice to see Tyler James Williams show up as Noah. Not sure why Officer Dawn slapped Beth but she seems a bit crazy. Glad to see Officer Goreman get eaten. Beth really stepped up during the escape scenes. Nice to see her character finally have a backbone. The preview for next week looked good. It also looks like they are going to keep the reveal of who was with Daryl a mystery for a little longer.

Monkey Astronaut 11-09-2014 06:04 PM

Episode 5 "Self Help"

SPOILERS

I wasn't expecting the bus to flip over or the reveal that Eugene sabotaged it. The Abraham flashbacks were interesting. I was pretty shocked that Eugene came clean to the group. Pretty satisfying seeing Abe knock him out. Great ending. Looking forward to seeing what happened to Carol and Daryl next week.

I'm pretty sure Eugene is dead.

Monkey Astronaut 11-16-2014 06:06 PM

Episode 6 "Consumed"

SPOILERS

Enjoyed the opening montage of what happened to Carol last season. Definitely wasn't expecting Noah to get the drop on Daryl and Carol like that. The van scene was tense and I was shocked they decided to go over the edge in it. The falling zombies made me laugh.

Monkey Astronaut 11-23-2014 06:04 PM

Episode 7 "Crossed" The gore in this episode was superb.

SPOILER

The zombie remains at the FEMA sight looked great. Daryl ripping off the zombies head and using it as a weapon was pretty awesome. Not sure what to make of Gabriel escaping. Pretty good ending.

neverending 11-27-2014 10:25 PM

Well, I'm finally all current on this season. I like seeing how the different threads converge.

SPOILERS

The reveal about Eugene took me by surprise. I knew he had some kind of secret, but that it was going to be not that he knew the cure, but that he WAS the cure- like he had some kind of blood immunity or something, so the find out he was a complete fraud was a shock.

Monkey Astronaut 11-30-2014 06:04 PM

Episode 8 "Coda"

SPOILERS

Rick running down Sergeant Lamson with the cop car was great. Gabriel is such an ass for leading all those walkers back to the church. Michonne swinging around her katana with baby Judith strapped to her back. The zombie falling into the machete head first made me laugh. Fire Engine to the rescue great parking job Abe. Pretty satisfying seeing that cop get pushed down the elevator shaft. Wasn't expecting Beth to stab Dawn but if any character had to go I'm glad it wasn't Carol. Great Morgan scene at the end. Looking forward to him reuniting with the group.

I was bummed that they killed off Beth, I liked her character. You're right, though, better her than Carol!!

I knew somebody had to die, but I was sure it was gonna be Carol.
