DS:

Scribblenauts
Mario VS Donkey Kong 2: March of the minis.

As I said scribblenauts is a little interesting, but kind of poorly executed...while it does seem to promote lateral thinking and finding various solutions there's no great deal of creativity allowed for and a lot of the items you create just DON'T work as intended...I would hope that if a sequel were produced, they'd address this issue.

MvsDK2
OK, I'll start by saying that in the end, I didn't hate this game...it was a little easy but I enjoy the kind of puzzles and methods of solving them in sequence that were available.
Now, onto what pissed me off...now there's one group of people here who will understand where I'm coming from, that being those that have played the titles in this series prior, those being:
Donkey Kong (Gameboy)
Mario vs Donkey Kong (Gameboy Advance)
If you've played one or both of these, then you'll be aware that they were pretty damn good games, a nice mixture of puzzles, action, and some damn good boss fights. While my preference lay with the original I thought MvDK was a pretty good follow up, I went in expecting a remake but it was actually a damn good sequel.
Now...for those of you who played and enjoyed either/both of these, and haven't yet tried out or seen MvDK2, here's a spoiler....
There's no Mario, well, there is, but he's not playable.
It's a stylus only game (WHY? There's goddamn buttons there, nintendo...)
It's a lemmings clone with a Mario "skin".
These were my factors of disappointment.
Great series of games, IMO stopped dead in its tracks.
Will they make another one more like the other two now? Probably not.
It was just strictly not as fun.
That said it was an "ok" game for those who like things like lemmings etc, but as a fan of the titles mentioned above you'd probably be disappointed.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

"Heavy Rain" PS3 8-9/10

First half of the story was over the top. Last half was a little too much and too far-fetched.

That being said, I'm confident this game will end up in the top 10 of best games of the year and I'm pretty sure it even end up in the top 5.

There's several different endings in this game and I've only just ended one of them. Probably the worst one. :o

AmericanManiac 03-21-2010 10:55 AM

Not a bad game, this.

The Mothman 04-06-2010 10:21 AM

Pretty sweet game if you ask me, gets hard as hell after a while though. Wish they would make a new one.

The Mothman 04-06-2010 07:50 PM

GTA - Lost & Damned
While I think it was clever how they laced it into the storyline of GTA4, anyone who's read my other post will know I had issues with this game.
Those who haven't, it was pretty much that every single mission got you a wanted rating of 2 or more stars upon completion, and while I don't mind fucking around in the game, killing things and getting chased by cops etc, when it's during a mission it just gets ANNOYING.
That and yeah, I just don't find the GTA series as fun anymore since SA.
Overall, nice looking game.
VERY VERY short though...like, it seemed a lot of effort to put into something that felt like 1/4 of the size of GTA4...though I guess that's what it was meant to be, more an expansion pack?

Since I currently have the double pack with "Ballad of Gay Tony" here, I started playing that, and thus far I'm enjoying it quite a bit more...bit more back to roots in the GTA sense I find...

Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway

VampiricClown 04-20-2010 05:31 PM

Battlefield: Bad Company

Damn...That was a lot shorter than I wanted it to be. Beat it in two nights worth of playing. Roughly about five hours or so.

Is this becoming a trend? Make games as short as possible?

Freak 04-20-2010 05:47 PM

Beat the story on Splinter Cell Conviction the other night.but there is still plenty to do.I'm going through the hunter missions.Which if you ever played Rainbow Six Vegas its just like terrorist hunt but way better.

Sounds like a game I shall pick up...when it comes down in price a bit.

It'sa great game and they really improved on everything from the other titles in the series.

endo 04-21-2010 04:16 PM

The most recent game I finished was Call Of Chutulu: Dark Corners Of The Earth. Had the game for years, and a few months back got really serious about sitting down and beating it for some reason.

Pretty tough, for me anyway. But, I really enjoyed it.

cheebacheeba 04-21-2010 05:15 PM

GTA: The Ballad of Gay Tony
IMO much better than TLOTD...more challenging missions, better storyline and characters, and a much more acceptable length...and THEN a bunch of random missions to complete after the story is done.
If you haven't DL'd it yet, the double pack with both of the GTA4 DLCs is well worth it.
Also, in this one I found the most likeable main character since Vice City, and one of the side characters (Yusef) is maybe the funniest character ever in a GTA.

Its the only COD Ive completed on veteran. I dont consider myself a quitter but fuck me did I quit trying on some of the others.

I haven't got World at War, so I may see if I can get it second hand.

Freak 07-13-2010 11:53 PM

Cant remember if I posted this or not but I beat Alan Wake two weeks ago.The storyline is pretty good but I felt the combat could have been better and the ending was kinda wierd.

Caenxavier 08-09-2010 07:24 AM

Just got through Bioshock 2. As soon as I was done I wanted to play again! Much more customization than the first one.

The Mothman 08-10-2010 03:19 PM

Limbo

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME
as cool as it is, its way too short and rather easy, i feel ripped off.

ChronoGrl 09-03-2010 09:09 PM

Just stayed up finishing Heavy Rain. DAMN what a good game. Well, more of an interactive movie than your usual video game, but still - Incredibly engaging, I simply couldn't put the controller down. My huge complaint about it is that you can't manually save it, which makes it difficult to go back just to see what would have happened had you made different choices. The game doesn't have much replayability either, so I'm frustrated that I couldn't see the different "choice" scenarios play out. Regardless, it's a great "thriller"/mystery game. Highly recommended.

"Mafia 2" PS3 8/10

Freak 09-20-2010 12:58 PM

Dead Rising 2 Case Zero

It's an arcade game that gives you a taste of what to expect in the full game. The one thing I really like about it is the combo weapons. You can take two average items to create some pretty interesting stuff. For example you can take a double sided paddle and attach chainsaw's to each end and go nuts.
