When I get the first package I will say on here. If another package is on it's way at that point, I'll try my best to send both. The thing is, if I did have both, they'd both be going overseas, and as 15 year old that would be a bit of an inconvenience.

That could work. If it's okay with everybody I could send the package (The one this thread is based around) to Scouse Mac. It would put whoever was next in line a bit further back but it would be more likely to keep the packages moving. Let's just hope I have enough stuff to put in there!

As I had posted in this earlier in the afternoon (deja vu!), I am willing to start Package v 4.0 but on certain conditions -

1. If you are only interested in acquiring freebies from someone else and cannot forward it to the next person, don't raise your hand.

2. Be mindful that moving the Package WILL involve shipping/postal charges. If the person to whom you are sending it is willing to share the charges with you, good and fine. If not, you will have to bear the full expenses.

3. I have inquired about the charges to send it to someone in the US or Canada, and it amounts to a small fortune for me. So unless and until I get absolute confirmation that this package will be in transit for the whole chain of people (you can even send it back to me), I won't take a chance.

4. Don't make the package boring by stuffing it with just old books and toys. The next person should find something for his/her liking before they send it to someone else, otherwise it will be useless for them. And it will be criminal of you to do something like that.


I know these stipulations might seem a bit harsh, but judging from how the first 3 packages went into the shitter real quick, I am not willing to pay as much for this one unless you can confirm to me that my initiation for the 4th Package will be honored by the rest of you. The charges are equal to almost a week of my job's pay, and that matters a great deal to me. So unless I get some sort of confirmation that this will continue, I won't be involved.

Ok, I'm sorry, but I'm still pissed off about Package 2.0.

1. I organized it - Reached out to people - Everyone was excited and in support.
2. If someone was uncomfortable with sending it out of country, I worked with the participants to switch orders to make sure that everyone was OK with whom they were sending it to, before even kicking it off.
3. I took pains to keep all addresses private and only kept communication between the Sender and Sendee so that address information wasn't divulged.
4. I put in TIME to gather the stuff that I wanted to put into the package - All of the duplicate DVD's that my boyfriend and I had acquired over the years and didn't want (or just plain DVD's that we didn't care for but thought maybe someone else might) plus some random stuff.
5. I SENT IT TO ROSHIQ IN BANGLADESH - Not cheap, but others on the list didn't have the money, so I figured - I'd do it to get the ball rolling...
6. Roshiq sent it BACK TO THE STATES to Flayed where there was STILL some excitement with the participants around the package (those who were on the list and people PM'ing me to get on the list)...
7. And then it stopped.
8. I kept periodically bumping the thread and PM'ing Flayed - No response... Until Flayed got sick of seeing the thread being bumped and LOCKED IT.

Not really sure where I'm going with this here - I guess the takeaways are:

--- Chrono is REALLY crabby (I've had a bit of a shitty week)
--- If you are going to commit to being a part of the next package, please PLEASE take it seriously - The people involved, whether it be the initial person organizing it or the people taking the time to put cool things into it and post it overseas, are actually making an effort... Plus the people downstream are actually excited to get it! Don't slack off.

Not to mention - I actually really REALLY like you guys here - I consider you friends and this package was just another way to solidify the fact that we are REAL PEOPLE making a REAL CONNECTION with a common interest on this site - That being said, it was hard not to take it personally when it died.

Aww, I feel so bad for you Chrono...That really sucks...BUT, at least you and Roshiq got to 'share' overseas, and that's freakin' awesome :)...I can't wait to send all of these books out...The reason my shipping is so expensive (besides shipping overseas) is that books are so heavy when you have a bunch of them...BUT...I have figured out a way to handle the cost and I am really looking forward to this.



Also...I definitely didn't mean to suggest that no one had a reason to be angry/upset/disappointed/hurt or even downright enraged about the loss of the packages (and the time, effort and expense involved)...I was only saying that it would be more productive to put it behind us and try again, because we weren't getting anywhere...I apologize whole-heartedly if my comments indicated anything otherwise.
