Ok i'm not very good at this but i'll give it a go

- this film is from 60's

- it was the Director's first American feature film but his second horror movie

- nominated for 2 Academy Awards - Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actress (which it won)

stygianwitch 08-03-2006 03:26 PM

no takers, here's another clue...

- Based upon Ira Levin's best-selling novel of the same name

The_Return 08-03-2006 07:28 PM

Yep, I didn't answer because it always takes me like 30 minutes to come up with decent clues to a movie that's not an Eastwood flick. Didn't feel like it.

Nothing wrong with having a common theme...most of my posts in the music section involve Alice Cooper in some way or antother:p

stygianwitch 08-04-2006 02:18 AM

Yep

_____V_____ 08-31-2006 05:33 AM

Here goes :-

- This movie was turned into an award winning comedy musical.

- The composer of this movie dubbed a whistling scene for the lead actor.

- Roles were swapped by a lead actress of this movie, who was also a famous singer.

More clues when asked for...

Guess?

The_Return 08-31-2006 05:56 AM

Little Shop of Horrors?

_____V_____ 08-31-2006 06:54 AM

nope. (THIS movie was turned into a musical...ergo remade)

- Bill Murray was supposed to play the lead in this one.

_____V_____ 09-27-2006 04:50 AM

wow...almost a month and no guesses...

The correct answer is "The Witches of Eastwick."

The_Return 10-11-2006 03:57 PM

Going to post another?

_____V_____ 10-12-2006 01:57 AM

Sure. Here we go...

- The expensive set used for the climax scenes of this movie was left intact for use of another very famous movie's initial scenes shot some years later in the same studio.

- The famous line said by the android of this movie is actually the First Law of Robotics according to Isaac Asimov.

- Entertainment Weekly described this movie as the "greatest pure action movie ever".

More clues when you ask for them...

guess the movie?

Disease 10-15-2006 10:54 PM

Blade runner?

I'll just keep guessing ,

_____V_____ 10-16-2006 05:54 AM

nope. Its a horror-action movie actually.

But nice guess. Think in terms of those lines...

Roderick Usher 10-16-2006 11:56 AM

urgeok 10-16-2006 12:24 PM

stygianwitch 10-16-2006 12:28 PM

I think it's Aliens too

The_Return 10-16-2006 12:56 PM

Bonus points if we know the "famous movie" the set was used for?

Providing the last couple guesses are right (and Im pretty sure they are), I know what else shot on the set:D

urgeok 10-17-2006 07:24 AM

Roderick Usher 10-18-2006 09:39 AM

All right here goes... shouldn't be too hard

- this film was considered so offensive that it effectively destroyed the career of its director

- the screenplay was written by a former WWII codebreaker turned West End playwright

- originaly reviled and ignored in it's home of England, this film was "saved" by Martin Scorsese (who's longtime editor is the director's widow) 20 years after its initial release

_____V_____ 10-18-2006 09:56 AM

hmm...

Peeping Tom?

Roderick Usher 10-18-2006 12:17 PM

yup. pretty easy one, huh?

_____V_____ 10-18-2006 08:28 PM

The first clue reminded me of Michael Powell. A search at IMDB confirmed it later. :D

Alright here we go :-

- Jason Statham turned down this movie to do Ghosts of Mars.

- This is one of the fewer movies which has actually used very little CGI effects.

- This movie probably takes place on the night when England beat Germany 5-1 at soccer.

More clues when you ask for them...guess the movie?

Knew that was too easy.

_____V_____ 10-21-2006 12:34 PM

thanks bro.:)

here we go :-

- This movie took three years to find a distributor who would handle its release.

- Much of the filming of this movie took place in an independent soundstage.

- Since it was funded by a Baptist church, several members of the cast of the movie let themselves be baptised.

More clues if/when you ask for em...guess the movie?
